[He swallows and pauses, cocking his head to the side as he considers her.]

...That sound a bit ominous.

Celegorm sat back, all his prior levity gone, looking tense and troubled. He frowned into the space between them, hand falling away from his glass.

We were only banished from Aman as kinslayers. What must they have done, to warrant such punishment...?

The thought is a heavy one, and he exhales slowly. "You have been a commander for fifteen years. Imagine centuries full of that. In maudlin moments, I think our long lives an unpleasant jest played upon us, a cosmic joke at our expense. Imagine living through centuries of war, battles the length of decades, your memory undulled, perfect in the recollection of every face you loved, and every body you pulled from the mire of a battlefield."

He is too haunted, for a moment, for his eyes to see the celebration, to see Eiridan. His perfect features crumple just very subtly, the corners of his eyes and mouth crimping in private pain.

If not a curse, perhaps it was a blessing.

Kira beams at him, curling her fingers around his.

"It'll be okay." she tells him, perhaps a little excitedly. "I mean, kitsune are kind of like fairies, right? Trickster spirits and all that. Maybe they know more about it. But we're here, and there are all kinds of strange people...I should be afraid, right? I don't know why I'm not."

She is unable to keep a small smile from curving its way onto her mouth as she glances at him sidelong. "The circumstances we find ourselves in are unusual enough," she readily agrees, "That indeed, a familiar face is a reassurance. But are you entirely certain that we walk among allies?"

A slender hand is lifted, offering a vague gesture to those gathered. "I do not understand the nature of the magic of this place."

[ with a hand resting on top of her own robb leads her from the revelry, from those unknown eyes and stuffy air. though knowing little of the great hall he walks with purpose, following the halls until it brings them out into the fresh evening air.

he waits for a moment, blue eyes casting a look behind them and once he is certain that they were not followed he exhales. tension draining from his limbs. ]

I was coming for you. [ robb begins to speak almost with uncertainty, he feels as if he failed by the look of her now. older and wiser, with dark hair and a false name. ] I was coming for you and Arya both. [ he had failed their father, but he would not fail them. ]

I pray you will forgive me, I made you wait far too long.

[Javik was of like mind when it came to conversation, and small talk was considered a pointless waste of time. He didn't follow too closely, lingering over tapestries and the various odds and ends that decorated (or littered) the hallways. While Ben certainly seemed to be in a hurry, Javik's exploration was more measured. A lifetime of nasty surprises around every corner had tempered any impulsiveness he might have had a long time ago.

After sweeping through several hallways, Javik began to wonder if this place ever opened up into anything else. Wasn't there at least a window? He thought that was normal for surface dwellings. What little he'd seen of Earth had been blasted by war, so he didn't have much of a baseline comparison. This was assuming they were on a planet in the first place, of course.]

Was there anything like this place on Earth? Or its colonies?

the station.

[ Seelie. Unseelie. To be perfectly goddamn honest, he hasn't really been allowing any of it to sink in. All of his listening? Half-assed, at best. It's not that he isn't concerned — it's that he knows better than to let himself submerge fully into what sounds (and, seems, and feels) like a night or more of extended partying. Paranoid delusions aren't new, but ones this vivid...

It's got to be guilt bleeding into his subconscious, mixing with some chemicals, fucking him up. Right? Right?

So far, he's ignored just about anyone he's passed, human-looking or otherwise, not ready to completely trust their tangibility. Worse yet: not ready to trust that their tangibility isn't directly harmful to him. Soon enough, he's found the station — the nicest looking one he's seen yet, not that he's seen many, mind. This isn't exactly some worldly traveler, by the looks of him. His stride inside is somehow both pinched and loose, long steps and bent in shoulders, hands buried in the pockets of a coat that looks as if it's trying to devour him.

His incredulity is prickly, fizzing soda. He's antsy about something as simple as sitting, and one might catch him lightly rocking on his heels in a mental plight of stand or sit, stand or sit, stand or sit. Three chairs are passed up, and when he's nearly at a fourth, he sweeps back, and unceremoniously plunks on the edge of that third chair, knee bouncing almost instantly. One of his elbows finds the corner of the table, and after giving the cup of coffee placed there an almost dramatic rise of one his brows, he digs in his pocket to pull out a small, sleek black and red cellphone.

For the twentieth, or thirtieth, or one hundredth time since he's arrived, after everything he's heard, he's making another futile attempt to dial out. ]

Come on. Come on, [ mumbles against knuckles curled against his mouth. ]

(note: haha! Wow, really, really late at doing this, but I'd still like to try, yeah!)

Not strictly speaking my home, but I certainly do a lot of visiting. They can't seem to get anything done without their slaves, and certainly aren't keen on trying.

Mind you, the situation doesn't seem vastly different here, except a greater lack of organization.

Is this Sora a friend of yours?

[That's...a very good question, actually.] Not quite. We only met recently.

[The thought is nice despite being impossible to actually work out. Of course they would get along too (if they weren't fighting each other), since he is him. At least Roxas is back to smiling more naturally again. Even after going through so much pain and watching his best friend fade right before his eyes, Sora is still an important person to Roxas.]

But I'd like to be. I guess you could say I've been watching out for him for awhile.

I know I have to pass by the woods of Eithne... It's dreadful, but the journey will be easier once I get to Cothromach, I think. Oh! Are you on your way to Caer Glaem, too?

Kami. [ She looks down at the thumbs she's been twiddling for some time. Kami, what an odd name. Maybe it's from somewhere further east, or a different world altogether. Either way, she's already forgiven her. ] I am Kougyoku.

Um... this is war, isn't it? We are fighting for our worlds and our lives, aren't we? So if this is the only way I can return, I don't care if the courts think us fools for fighting for their cause. I just want to go home.

[ the festivities had had him on edge, as disinclined as he was to admit as such; the story they'd been given was fantastical, totally absurd and, evidently, rooted in some degree of truth. (oh, he wasn't about to deny the existence of fairies, of imps, of goblins, of whatever else inhabited this — realm, he supposed would be the best term — but he doubted (is certain) it's a cut-and-dry as the courts would lead them to believe.

so, then, he'd watched. quickly — immediately — it'd been clear that everyone who'd been brought here was in the same boat, figuratively speaking, even if their methods of arrival had differed. there had, he'd gathered, been those who'd followed a creature of lore with willingness, and there'd been those who'd been dragged against their will. it spoke of a conscious choosing of individuals, an unwillingness to compromise, of being observed. more than anything else — that any of it exists, for example — that's the part that bothers sherlock the most. that he'd been watched and he hadn't noticed.

he hadn't stayed at the feast for long; it appeared to be of little use and, he'd reasoned, it'd be easier to get answers, conclusions, a basis of facts about all who'd been gathered to fight (fight!) in a quieter, more intimate venue. he'd also wanted time to think, but that was neither here nor there.

he's watched various individuals come and go from the station. some had known each other (curious in and of itself, and he'd wondered about joan, before pointedly, deliberately attempting to shove that consideration to one side. she could take care of herself, whether she was here or not, and there was absolutely no use in worrying

which he wasn't.) lips pursed, he's no qualms (in spite of an intense dislike of small talk) in approaching strangers, alone or otherwise, it was simply a matter of who. who was better to observe for the moment, and who was better to converse. jesse catches his eye when he enters — not for his appearance, for that's entirely uninteresting, but for the mannerisms. the lack of surety, the indecisiveness and the nervousness. sherlock doubts the nervousness is linked entirely to their situation, but

it's only when he withdraws the phone that sherlock makes the decision to approach. (evidently he's decided to disbelieve the facts in front of him, preferring instead to cling to the absurd notion that this is — what? a dream?) ]

I assume [ the words are enunciated carefully, with pointed questioning and a hint of condescension, and he seats himself opposite jesse before continuing. ] you've turned on international roaming? I doubt your network has made a point of extending coverage to the Drabwurld. [ a tight wave of his fingers at their surroundings accompanies the remark. there's nothing, not the slightest sign. the court had been entirely devoid of anything one would consider technological in the human sense, and sherlock, from recollections of stories read as a child, from myths perused as a teenager, is certain that there was a truth in what he'd so believed as fiction for the longest time. (the weakness of fey.) nevertheless, he doesn't give jesse time to answer, not really, before: ] The station is an anomaly, intended, perhaps, for the likes of us. [ not that jesse will be able to get through to anyone; sherlock has already tried, the effort as entirely futile as he'd expected it to be. ]

( i apologise for any kinks etc, i am super new to playing sherlock! but huff jesse. )

I will keep your secret.

[ Are the gods mocking him? His lord's entire family was murdered twice over from political intrigue, and he — despite a trip to hell and back — had been unable to stop it. And now to throw this... this princess across his path, a girl in danger from her own kin (never mind the creatures here), who from the sound of things, have already assassinated one another....

No doubt she'll be attacked in front of him, and he'll be impotent to save her.

It feels like a cruel joke. His whole life is nothing but that. ]

[ Kougyoku thinks she knows her family situation than he is, but that's where she is wrong. There's no doubt she will be killed if her kin knew she was being used by the enemy, a fact she remains unaware of. ]

Oh. [ That brings her back to reality. She was so happy to have someone to talk to, she'd forgotten where they were. ] Right.

[ She keeps silent for most of the way, from the road down south to the Spineback Mountains. The time they spent travelling, she spent thinking of ways to start (or restart) a conversation. When you're as shy as Kougyoku. it's difficult to look for an opening and find the confidence to say something. She only manages once they reach the woods. ]
