[Someone is stepping out of the door behind Bilbo, stepping around some columns and then just brushing past him, though not far - they are on a balcony type place with flights of stairs to both sides that lead into the park further down, and the figure stops at the railing, standing there tall and proud for a while, just looking out over the garden.

It's a man, tall and fair, with long dark hair and wearing an armour that speaks of skilled craft and wealth. He's armed, and while it may well be there for show there is a certain purpose in his step that indicates that he well knows how to use it. He will simply stay there in the dark, ignoring the other person on the balcony completely. Not that he isn't aware of him, but he doesn't know of him, could not say where he is from or what his purpose is, and in a place like this sees no reason to immediately feel anything towards him, for better or worse. His thoughts are on other matters, for a while.]

[The figure sweeps past him like a shadow, sending a chill down Bilbo's spine as he looks up to watch the stranger with slight curiosity. Upon studying him further (staring is rude, he is aware, but he feels he can excuse himself in the current situation) he recognizes him to be an Elf and a spark of hope lights up in his chest. Having only met those native to these lands it had not yet occurred to Bilbo that he could very well meet and Elf not from Middle-earth.

A surprise for another day, fortunately.

His experience with Elves and how to deal with them was sadly very short. So he musters up no small amount of courage and carefully walks over to the Elf's side, both hands clutched together in front of his chest to keep himself from fidgeting. He offers a small, polite smile and when he speaks he winces at how timid his voice comes out at first.]

Ah- Hello!

[It's hard to make heads and tails of this person. He might be a native, or from any world; Fëanor has never seen the likes of him. So there is no specific attitude in the elf's reaction to the hobbit as he looks down at him, not with respect but with the slightly condescending and easily swayed neutrality that he has adapted as an approach to those in this place that he cannot place.]

Yes?
