[ She pulls a face and shrugs, pushing down her fears over where the heck Ares is and why she hasn't gone insane without him around. That's way too heavy a deal to put on a kid's shoulders, let alone a stranger's. So, her expression wilts for a moment, hiking back up into an enthused smile as she shakes her head determinedly, golden ringlets shivering. ]

I'm not even sure here is the best for any of us. [ but he's got the drive to be much more optimistic than this. it's the settling in jitters, maybe. or the fact that he can't physically solve his problems. he can hear Annabeth's voice in his head chiding him already for only considering venturing outside of the city to get his hands on something. fighting, at least, is his normal. if he takes down some monsters, he'll feel like he's getting somewhere. ] But you're probably right. [ no, he doesn't mean her husband. he means her boyfriend. but maybe things are different in her world. maybe she isn't only more nurturing and friendly than the Aphrodite he knows, maybe she's isn't like her at all. ] I guess you'd say there was.. love magic on it. I don't know.

Hephaestus wasn't too happy about it. [ but! that's maybe not his story to spill. ] I don't think you could be more different than the Aphrodite I know if you tried.

Herc's buddy Iolaus told me this one time that he went through a portal to an alternate reality where, like, everyone was way different. Ares was the God of Love and I was this weird, prudish queen.
