[ She perks up at the words, hearing someone speak - up until now people seem to have been milling around doing little much of anything, save eating and spending their time enjoying the feast. She wishes there was more opportunity to do research up until now but the darkened hallways don't seem particularly inviting, at least not yet.

She relishes the chance to speak to someone, perking up and smiling a little, tilting her head. ]

A few, I think? It's not the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard, not really.

[ on top of everything, the fact that there are actual children around, many of which are seemingly from various different worlds, is also something that rubs hook the wrong way. still, as the girl answers him, he only raises a brow at her. ]

Ridiculous or not, the place hardly garners any trust. [ the place, the story of what is going on or how they're supposed to help. it all makes his hook itch almost, as if unwariness really is seeping into his skin. ]

Tell me, girl, where do you come from?

[ Well, that she can understand. Being dragged to another world for a strange and unfamiliar purpose isn't exactly the best way to get someone on your side, but Hermione wants to give them the benefit of the doubt as much as she can, at least until she's learned enough to think otherwise. ]

That's true. They could've asked instead of bringing us here, I suppose, but maybe that defeats the whole purpose of whatever it is they're trying to do. [ She breathes out, pursing her lips a little.

At the simple 'girl' she purses her lips, crossing her arms. ]

My name is Hermione Granger and I'm from England.

[ there's logic in her words but hook's not one for agreeing with it right now. ]

Well, Granger -- [ oh, there's the slightly demeaning tone, just a hint born more from the frustration of this situation than anything. ] What they're trying to accomplish doesn't concern me, and I plan on getting off this ship whether they approve or not.

They really should have sent a letter, forcing my hand was a mistake.

[ he has his own ship to find, after all. ]

[ Hermione's lips purse and her expression sours completely. Why is it that so many people are so irritatingly rude when all she is trying to do is help? ]

You can definitely try, though from the sounds of it you won't have much luck. I understand this is frustrating but we could at least find out as much as we can. Maybe that will show us a way to get out of here.

[ She breathes out a sigh, reaching for the wand tucked up her sleeve. ]

They must have had a reason for not asking first, no matter how rude it may be.
