Hazel Levesque | PJO/HoO

[personal profile] adventurine 2014-03-17 12:58 am (UTC)(link)
[Hazel is definitely grabbing some of that coffee because...wow. She thought being in the world of demigods was odd? This is totally stranger. She's trying her best to wrap her mind around the whole thing. Fairies. Shards. Whatever war is going on around here between the different courts.

She makes a face. Going from one war and straight into another isn't her idea of a good thing, no matter how she looks at it. Hazel doesn't think this is a dream, but at the same time she's not sure she's accepting it as reality.

A sigh escapes her, and she sips at her coffee. It's good, reminding her of how New Rome used to brew up coffee. Hazel glances around, a part of her hoping to find a familiar face among the crowd of people. Maybe Frank or Nico or someone else she knows.]

[ Fairies.

Fairies.

Leo thinks he has to say it out loud a couple times to properly associate with the fact that he's just been kidnapped by fairies. Seriously, you wouldn't think the demigod crap is enough? Apparently not. Apparently he's gone from one civil war to another one entirely, and, yet again, he's some kind of prophesized warrior or something. Or not, he wasn't really listening that much.

So he's stuck in a land with a bunch of little fairy people trying to pull tricks and apparently trying to kill each other.

Awesome.

Leo's curiosity gets the better of him, and the moment he's free of whatever lecture he's getting, he ducks into a coffee shop, drawn in by the beacon basically screaming "FREE WI-FI". This could be some kind of weird illusion, or god trick, but you know what? Whatever. Going for it. He pushes open the door and pauses, spotting a head of familiar, curly hair, and a huge grin bursts onto his face, because of all the people to end up here with him, he's psyched that it's Hazel. ]
Hazel! Oh man, I am totally glad to see yo--are you drinking coffee? Whoa.

I mean--seriously, is this some kinda Gaea thing, do you think? I mean, fairies are kind of...earthy, right? Sorta?

[Hazel beams when she sees Leo and waves at him. She loses some of her merriment when he asks the question about Gaea.]

I can't say for sure, to be honest. All I really know about fairies is that they're Irish or something like that. I wouldn't know why Irish creatures would want anything to do with Greeks or Romans.

Also, yes, this is coffee. It's really good!

[ leo chews his cheek for a second, like he's thinking that over, then gives a loud, dramatic huff of a sigh and drops into the chair across from her. ]

Maybe our forefathers are like, secretly three part gods. Half Roman, Half Greek....part Irish. I dunno. [ wow, nailed it with your math there, valdez.

still, he waves off his worry and offers her a lazy grin, leaning across the table to sniff at the coffee. he didn't even know hazel was old enough to drink coffee--he didn't even think he was, but maybe there was a reason he wasn't allowed to have it. ]
It smells awesome.
ripstides: (crash ❖ no room for sound.)

Hazel? [ the disbelief in his voice is dripping out in buckets. when the gods kick you around like a hackeysack, it kinds of makes you wonder how you even still manage to have hope. but he does. he picks up his pace and winds through the people in his way to get to her, managing to somewhat tone down his excitement to see someone he knows from home. ] I've been looking for someone I recognize for hours. I thought I was going crazy.

[personal profile] adventurine 2014-03-17 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
[She does not tone down her excitement at seeing Percy. Hazel gets up from the table and immediately hugs her friend, a huge grin on her face.]

Percy! Gods, if you're going crazy, then obviously I am, too.

[After a moment, Hazel steps back and sits down in her seat, gesturing for Percy to join her.]

You want coffee? It's surprisingly good.
ripstides: (squeeze ❖ you are my family.)

[personal profile] ripstides 2014-03-17 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
You think that qualifies us for a discount? Like the more friends you recruit for padded rooms, the better the view out the barred window? [ Percy Jackson, you are not hilarious. the end.

he's talking to talk. that's an actual thing. he feels himself relax in her embrace if only because it feels great to have her in front of him, and real, and in one piece. Percy pulls out the chair beside her as indicated and makes himself comfortable.
]

I could probably use the caffeine. How much sugar are they offering?
adventurine: (Peridot)

[personal profile] adventurine 2014-03-17 12:20 pm (UTC)(link)
And a complimentary hug-me jacket. [Neither of them are.

Hazel smiles at that.]

As much as you want. They're not stingy, and they certainly don't give you dark looks for "spoiling good coffee" with things like cream and sugar.

[ really, by this point, frank should just suspend any and all understand he had of what is considered normal. when you're on a quest to stop the earth from rising and destroying humanity, whose to say that faeries can't suddenly appear and kidnap you and bring you to another world to fight their war? is that really so much of a stretch?

yes? no? maybe? not that he says much. just watches and listens as they brief him, and then heads out when it's all over. and the fact that he finds himself in a place that looks much more like the world he left and less like he dropped right into the middle of a larping session, that's totally a coincidence and not at all him feeling like he's a little out of his element. ]

Hazel?

[personal profile] adventurine 2014-03-17 02:04 am (UTC)(link)
[Frank is getting a tackle-hug from his girlfriend. And of course she accidentally knocks over her chair, but at the moment she doesn't care. Hazel's just extremely happy to see Frank here with her, though she knows that's selfish of her.]

Frank! The fairies got you, too, huh?
cibus: (eight ↫)

[personal profile] cibus 2014-03-17 03:45 am (UTC)(link)
[ tackle-hugs from girlfriends are totally acceptable. more than totally acceptable because that also means that said girlfriend is here and okay and now he doesn't have to worry about that. everyone else? yes. but not hazel. his arms wrap back around her in his own half of the hug. ]

Apparently. [ and then he's leaning back, checking her over a little just in case. ] You're okay? [ of course she's okay, frank's just worrying. ] How long have you been here? Is that...coffee?

[She grins at him.]

Yes, I'm fine. Not a scratch on me. I've only been here for a few hours, and yes, that's coffee. Really good coffee, too. They have tea and hot chocolate if coffee isn't your preference, though.
