[Janine observes for a time. She has a soft spot for people around her own age who're overwhelmed. On soft feet she ambles closer, stopping some distance away.

When Janine was human, she wasn't older than fourteen. Now, she's an enormous pterosaur who uses telepathy to speak.]

:First part first. What's your priority one?:

[ Hermione's eyes widen when she hears the voice inside of her head and she looks around, almost desperately. When she sees Janine her eyes widen even more and she swallows the strange lump in her throat. She's seen her fair share of magical creatures but nothing like this

Is she supposed to reply in her mind? She has no idea. ]

:Personally I think studying it would go best if you got familiar with the closest part before looking too closely at the rest.:

[Janine's face is unreadable, since it's basically immobile. Her large red eyes are piercing, but her 'voice' is offhandedly kind.]

:Get a bite while they're offering, is my advice.:

[ Hermione nods, tilting her head, before she smiles. ]

It's a bad habit, I'm afraid. I get a little tangled up in things sometimes - that and I'm not particularly hungry.

[Janine moves her massive head and neck around in a gesture something like a shrug.]

:Then steal some for later. Anyway, you should probably find somewhere quieter to set down, so you can't be bothered.:

[ She grins. ]

Shove a few apples in my bag and make a run for it, then? It sounds a little like dinner time at my old school.

:Exactly. Only make it a napkin, and get something more filling. As long as it's not something with enough grease to soak through.:

[As the daughter of a bed-and-breakfast owner who was expected to get and keep rooms clean, Janine has a certain disdain for that kind of mess.]

So nothing too buttery, then. [ Hermione nods, looking over at the table. ] Maybe one of those cakes and, then, a few more apples.

[Janine nods, getting her great head to sink and rise quickly while keeping it level. That's a gesture that took a while to perfect.]
