[she doesn't miss that he is also still in his Narnian garb. Why are they here? When they walked through that tree-door, they were supposed to be going back to England]
No, I haven't. I don't like it, Ed.

[Knowing in his innermost heart that Aslan isn't involved somehow...doesn't make it easier to swallow. That means the fae interfered with Aslan's magic and succeeded halfway, if only he and Susan were snatched.]

Why just us, though? Why not Peter and Lucy, too? Did they make it back to England all right, you think?
switches to younger ed icons;;
Admittedly, we hadn't read much on folklore before our first encounter with Narnia, but the fae have always been known for ensnaring the unsuspecting. Faerie circles. [Edmund says the last bit quietly, mostly to himself.] Could it have been the order we went through the door? No, You were after Peter, I went after you. If Peter and Lucy aren't here, they must have made it to England.
/pinches his cheeks
How strange. I'm too old to go back to Narnia, but apparently not too old to be here. You and I are in the middle... D'you suppose that's why we were chosen and not Peter or Lucy?

It's a possibility we shouldn't rule out, but I'm not entirely satisfied with it. I suggest we look around the area some more before we come to a better conclusion.

[despite her gentle nature, she would still take someone down if she felt threatened]

I realised I'd forgotten my torch in Narnia, but I suppose I would be glad for it, if it means I have my sword instead.

[Edmund eyes the feast laid out before the rest of the kidnapped with one part longing and one part suspicion.]
Have you eaten any of it?

How long do you think we can last without food or water?
[They're going to have to eat eventually, and this time there won't be a convenient apple grove around to stave off the hunger.]

We'll have to find another source. More importantly, we'll have to tread carefully with these faeries. While we don't plan to stay, offending our hosts would be unwise.

But you're right. We have to be careful until we can find a way out of here.

Do you think Aslan will come once he knows what's happened to us?

We mustn't wait around. He would not want us to either. [Edmund gives a quick scan of the feast area.] Where shall we look first?
