Emma Swan | Once Upon a Time
[She wishes she could say the idea of being swept to another world entirely was foreign to her. A couple of years ago, it would have been -- she would have written the whole thing off as crazy and pinched herself until she woke up, except for the whole thing where fairy tales were actually real and so was magic and other worlds and waking up wouldn't have solved anything.
The feast itself seems too good to be true. She doesn't eat, deciding not to trust it, though she does take a glass of wine with her. She's always preferred beer, but if she can bring herself to trust the alcohol, she has the feeling she's going to need it. Leaning against the wall in the corridor outside the dining hall, she wrinkles her nose as she sniffs at her glass, trying to decide if there's anything off about it before taking a sip.
Screw it. Like it can get much worse than kidnapped by imps. She tips her glass back just enough to take a single sip, grimacing at the taste before lowering it and setting it aside. On second thought, not worth it.
Arms folded, she looks back towards the dining hall itself, eyes narrowed shrewdly as she takes in those assembled. Looks like their hosts brought in all sorts. She snorts to herself, shaking her head.]
Wish they'd cut it out with the dog and pony show. I don't think anyone here is all that impressed.
no subject
No, I think you're right about that.
no subject
Imps are never a good sign, and these fairies are like nothing I've ever seen.
[She's used to them being dressed as nuns, however, so that's not saying a whole lot.]
Think they'll slip and we'll get a glimpse of what this place is really like? Generally speaking, if anything seems too good to be true, it probably is -- and being thrown a freaking party after being kidnapped is definitely too good to be true.
no subject
[yeah, that tactic has been used on her family before. Not amused]
If these fairies are like the ones in stories, the last thing we'll want to do is eat their food.
no subject
[But she is, and in a big way. She frowns, looking back towards the feast.]
I didn't touch any of it. Think they'd bring us all the way here to poison us, though?
no subject
no subject
[Not quite a question -- but good. Her, neither. That'll make things easier.]
I don't know, you think they're interested in arming us? I don't know a whole lot about fairies beyond their magic being pretty damn powerful.
no subject
[she frowns in thought] It's difficult to say. I don't know fairies as well as fauns, dryads or centaurs.

he's about to set off in one direction when a voice from the other catches him up short, and though there are far too many concerns to take this situation lightly— no snow, for one— he can't help the slight grin as he responds. ]
I don't know if I'd say that. Actually, it kind of reminds me of home.
no subject
There's someone with a good head on his shoulders, at least.]
No offense, but your home isn't exactly the kind of place I want to be reminded of right about now. I've been there. Curses and ogres. Not a lot else going on.

[ it's said very nicely, considering it's a dig at their hosts, leaning on cautious observation rather than any hard sarcasm. david casts a glance back into the room before his attention returns to emma, and it's then that it occurs to him that things have gone more awry than he originally thought. ] You remember me.
[ captain obvious. but the implication's there: showing up here could just be a mistake of the curse breaking, but emma remembering anything about him and his home means the spell didn't work, either. ]

[Just to make a point, Will grabs an apple off a nearby table and takes a large bite. Yeah, this place was definitely better than a bottle that lacked a toilet.]
It's my experience that the best thing to do is enjoy the free fun while you can.
[And try very hard not to think about the trouble that's probably not too far behind or the trouble that you left.]
no subject
[Both eyebrows shoot up in warning, though he's already taken a bite by the time she gets the words out. She shifts her weight from one foot to the other, giving a shrug.]
Free fun is one thing, but aren't fairies known for being tricksters? Not sure I'm all that eager to dig in. Who knows what the food's got in it.
no subject
More like annoying. Break up with one and they hold a grudge for life.
[He tried to see things from Silvermist's side, but he still didn't see the problem]
So, what do you make of all this?
no subject
What does strike her is a flash of blonde that is all too familiar to her - Miss Swan, Baelfire's ex, the mother of his son --- ]
Emma?
no subject
Belle.
[She turns to face her, arms still folded, though some of the tension eases from her shoulders.]
So they brought you along, too. You okay?
no subject
I was expecting to be home, not - wherever this is. But I'm fine, just a little confused.
[ She pauses again, stepping forward and resisting the urge to reach out and touch Emma's arm, comforting. Emma doesn't seem to need much comfort. ]
Have you seen Bae yet?
swan off 2014 never forget
Bella's past the point of being surprised by creatures from storybooks (and nightmares) being real - not that it makes her happy to learn about it every time she does. Not at all.
She's nearby when Emma speaks, knowing it was probably said more to herself than outright to anyone else, but still commenting. ]
I'm kinda impressed. [ Not necessarily in a good way. Just in...a way she hasn't quite figured out yet. ] I never imagined this - [ Meaning all the different kinds of people and creatures and the like. ] was possible. Even if I knew that sometimes fairy tales and legends can be a little true.
fight of the centuryyy
[Emma is an absolute ray of sunshine right now. Kidnappings are her absolute favorite, and foreign magic -- or magic of any kind -- naturally runs a close second.]
'A little true' is an understatement, believe me.
[She's the Savior, she knows.]
Have to admit, though, I don't know a whole lot about fairies. Other than trusting them being an incredibly bad idea.
no subject
From what I've read, I think you're right. [ She offers a small smile. ] You sound like you're used to this kind of thing.
[ Bella's just a tiny bit relieved nobody's tried to take a bite out of her yet. She half expects it when she's confronted with previously assumed imagined characters and species come to life. ]
