THE WATER FIGHT MEME

It's summer. It's fairy world. It's hot. No matter what world you're from, what court you're from, you need to cool down. The King and Queen of both courts have agreed to a truce and members of both courts, no matter where they previously were, will find themselves in a clearing in the middle of an unknown forest. There is a dais up that is warded that both sets of monarchs sit upon and a herald is brought forth to announce the terms:

• Both courts will have ample supplies of both water balloons and water pistols.
• There will be 'stations' where one can refill their supplies.
• As tech does not work here, supplies will have to be refilled magically.
• Reach a station and say aquius to refill your water guns and aquius arcus to get a refurbished supply of water balloons.
• There is no reward or punishment for participating or not participating other than the fun involved in a water fight.
• Participants are welcome to go after their opposing courts or members of their own courts.
• Teams can consist of any/all court members.
• The fight will last until dusk, when all parties will be allowed a short feast before being returned to their previous positions in the world.

[ Shrieking and laughing, hit once, it flit to try and hide behind Waver's back (and also likely dry itself off on his clothing! ]

[Waver takes a beat, to try and feel out where that faerie might be by the tug of his clothing, and he very carefully tries to twist so that he can, at the very least, nudge it off.]

Mmhmm.

[But it was all in fun, and she did look defeated, so it didn't take long for him to lower his weapon.]

Okay. Fine. A truce.

[ ...Hold on, this is a very difficult question and needs some hard thinking ]

...Cano can't do both? [ reluctantly ] 'Spose should play more then - Amil always says we should be outside more when the weather is good.

[ Big puppydog eyes ] If Cano promises not to get you any more, can Cano braid your hair later?

[The pause gives Waver an idea.]

You know, we might make a good team. You're small and no one'll see you coming. I can be the distraction.

[ Watch him light up like a tiny lightbulb in glee at the thought ]

Oooh! Do you really think so sir? [ Oh oh, wait, what did atto always say about asking properly - have a polite little bow again Waver ]

U-um, if sir doesn't mind, then C... Makalaure would like the honor of playing this game with you.

If I minded, then I wouldn't have made the suggestion to begin with, Makalaure.

[Waver offers his hand, rather than bow back.]

Shall we, then?

[ in westeros, proper ladies did not shake hands on truces. but she has been out of westeros for some time and ~~by the magic of memes~~ has learned a great deal of new behaviours. so she lifts her hand and offers it for shaking.

and behind stiles, a trio of fairies with armfuls of balloons hover a little higher. ]

[ Makalaure takes that hand with an easy trust and a brilliant smile ]

Thank you sir! Yes! [ He tugs a little, bouncing eagerly ] Where to, sir?

You are very kind, Cano.

[She touches her hair, amused how some things hadn't changed in Maglor's personality at all]

My hair was always this way. I inherited the colour from my father, you see.

[ He beams up at her, watching her hair in fascination ]

Oh! Cano has atto's hair too! Amil's is red though - like fire! Nyelo has the same - atto said that he is pleased that at least one of us looks more like him. [ although in fairness apart from the hair, Maglor takes a lot more after Nerdanel than he does his father ]

Nyelo is my older brother [ he confides ] - he's sooooo tall! I wish he was here, but I haven't seen him.

Hmmm.

[Waver glances over his shoulder, analyzing the fight around them both.]

Why don't you pick the target?

[ A small head tips and eyes scan the group around them ]

They's all big peoples huh? Probably wouldn't notice Cano, if he's quiet. There - that one? She's talking talking, not looking

[ Maglor no, that's the Seelie Queen ]

--Maybe we should start smaller than one of the monarchs.

[Gently steering away from bad ideas, rather than giving a flat out no, is the only course Waver is going to take for now.]

[Gun lowered, he holds out his hand, smiling, taking hers for a shake--

And winding up with balloons bursting over his head as the fairies deliver their load. He splutters, looking up and laughing when he sees the now unburdened fairies flying around, giggling.]

Oh, I see how it is. You've got back up, huh? Well...

[Time to lift the gun again. Someone with wet red hair better start running.]

[Will is decidedly NOT happy with the current situation. It's not that he's a spoil-sport, but a man does have to keep some kind of dignity even in this crazy place. He's taken to ~~hiding~~ relaxing under a tree in an out of the way area, hoping that he can keep out of the way until this mess is finished]

How else are we to be evenly matched, Ser Stiles? [ the title is affectionate, though patently false. sansa smiles and begins to sprint almost immediately -- turning sharp upon a heel and once again threading between the trees. her small victory has made her more comfortable; she's smiling more. ]

[ Alas, poor Will, his lack of enjoyment is about to be made worse? There's no sound of footsteps to betray him, no rustle of the leaves in the tree - Noldo Makalaure may be, and no Woodelf, but an Elf is still an elf, and this tree is only too glad to aid this bright light in his mischief. The only warning Will gets is a soft musical giggle, then there's a tiny bundle that drops from the tree to land in his lap, watergun held at ready to blast him. A tiny bundle with Maglor's bright eyes. ]

Caught you!

[ Fortunately, Makalaure is the well behaved one (for certain definitions of well behaved. Look he gets compared to genius older brother, and then you get the three bratty Cs, and the mischievous twins) so he nods accepting and scans for another target.

Okay, if monarchs are not allowed he guesses the dark lady who is also busy talking is also out. Oh well. ]

That one? [ He's pointing at where Will is dozing ]

[Waver considers it.]

It might be a little mean to wake him up. At least so suddenly.

If you were politely to wake him up, it might be a better idea. Do you have a smaller squirt gun, that might rouse him up, then make him fair game?

[ Makalaure nods enthusiastically ]

Cano knows where to find them! He saw some by the taps! [ tug tug tug at Waver's hand - come on! ]

[Waver lets himself be dragged, although he does try to compensate for the awkward angle that is himself and Makalure's small body. Mostly, he looks ridiculous being dragged along, half hunched over.

He's looked sillier though.]

Oho! Is that the way it is?

[He watched her run, picking a piece of ruined balloon off his head before chasing off after her.]

Prepare for retaliation!

Why don't you surrender? [ she shouts over her shoulder, a swinging sway of damp hair punctuating her message. ] My forces exceed yours. You'll not win.

Stilinskis don't surrender.

[He turned and fired a stream of water up at the fairies, catching one and watching them flop to the ground.]

Your forces are expendable.
