THE WATER FIGHT MEME

It's summer. It's fairy world. It's hot. No matter what world you're from, what court you're from, you need to cool down. The King and Queen of both courts have agreed to a truce and members of both courts, no matter where they previously were, will find themselves in a clearing in the middle of an unknown forest. There is a dais up that is warded that both sets of monarchs sit upon and a herald is brought forth to announce the terms:

• Both courts will have ample supplies of both water balloons and water pistols.
• There will be 'stations' where one can refill their supplies.
• As tech does not work here, supplies will have to be refilled magically.
• Reach a station and say aquius to refill your water guns and aquius arcus to get a refurbished supply of water balloons.
• There is no reward or punishment for participating or not participating other than the fun involved in a water fight.
• Participants are welcome to go after their opposing courts or members of their own courts.
• Teams can consist of any/all court members.
• The fight will last until dusk, when all parties will be allowed a short feast before being returned to their previous positions in the world.

[ Don't ask why he's bitty okay, just accept it ~~the mun couldn't persuade him to do this as a grownup~~ but there is a teeny little elfling with Maglor's bright eyes sneaking around with a water balloon in his hands. ]

[Tiny elf tiny elf tiny elf. He's just so small and adorable, it's hard to believe he is actually Maglor]

Maglor?

[Her white-gold tunic and armor are gone, replaced with a sky blue dress, the material thick but loose on her form. Behind her back, she has her own water balloon in her hands and the smile on her lips is nothing short of mischievous]

[ Tiny elf with a brilliant smile, and no evidence whatsoever of grief or shadows, bright as a sparkling jewel ]

I'm not Maglor, Cano's name is Makalaure! [ Who talks in third person and is staring up in awe at the pretty lady ]

Lady your hair is very pretty!

[That's right. Only children ever shone this brightly. She laughs]

Thank you, Makalaure. [It was a good choice to leave her hair long and loose today] I am sorry for getting your name wrong.

[ He eyes her and then skips right up to her, utterly unafraid, for Aman is a place without danger or shadow, so what does he know of fear? Beaming up and her he reaches out to take her hand ]

Yous can call me Cano, if'n you like! Only atto and amme call me Makalaure. What's your name, Lady?

[Open surprise flits across her face but she smiles, taking his hand into her own gloved one]

Cano is a lovely name. My name is Elincia.

E-lin-cia [ he sounds it out slowly, the childish treble already fluting it as if to a song although it does not yet have the power of his adult voice ]

Is as pretty as you, Lady! [ Curious he points up at the fall of green hair, water balloons entirely forgotten ] How'd you get your hair like that? Like... like the green stones atto used in amme's necklace the other day!

You are very kind, Cano.

[She touches her hair, amused how some things hadn't changed in Maglor's personality at all]

My hair was always this way. I inherited the colour from my father, you see.

[ He beams up at her, watching her hair in fascination ]

Oh! Cano has atto's hair too! Amil's is red though - like fire! Nyelo has the same - atto said that he is pleased that at least one of us looks more like him. [ although in fairness apart from the hair, Maglor takes a lot more after Nerdanel than he does his father ]

Nyelo is my older brother [ he confides ] - he's sooooo tall! I wish he was here, but I haven't seen him.

Your hair is certainly lovely though.

[She smiles, not touching his hair but appreciating its length and colour]

Hmm, perhaps we'll be able to find him soon?

[ He beams up at her cheerfully ]

Thank you! Amil helped Cano braid it! [ not... that it even remotely resembles a braid any longer ]

I hope so! Nyelo is often busy these days - Atto is teaching him! But he always tries to find time to play with me.

[Elincia smiles, listening carefully as she leads him away from the water balloon battle]

It seems like your family is very lovely.

They are! [ He nods enthusiastically and counts them off on his fingers ] There's atto and amil, and Nyelo! And amil is pregnant again! She told me he kicks very hard, but when baby hears me sing he calms down, so I try to sing for amil lots and lots.

Then there's Grandfather Finwe, and Uncle Nolo, whose father's half-brother! And Grandmother Indis, but atto gets grumpy when we call her that - my real Grandmother is Grandmother Miriel, but she's sleeping and won't ever wake up, atto says. And there's Granfather Mahtan, he's amil's atto!

[Will is decidedly NOT happy with the current situation. It's not that he's a spoil-sport, but a man does have to keep some kind of dignity even in this crazy place. He's taken to ~~hiding~~ relaxing under a tree in an out of the way area, hoping that he can keep out of the way until this mess is finished]

[ Alas, poor Will, his lack of enjoyment is about to be made worse? There's no sound of footsteps to betray him, no rustle of the leaves in the tree - Noldo Makalaure may be, and no Woodelf, but an Elf is still an elf, and this tree is only too glad to aid this bright light in his mischief. The only warning Will gets is a soft musical giggle, then there's a tiny bundle that drops from the tree to land in his lap, watergun held at ready to blast him. A tiny bundle with Maglor's bright eyes. ]

[Children were not something Will enjoyed. They were tiny and loud and far too energetic for his liking. He crossed his arms and gave the tiny thing a hard look hoping to frighten him off]

Shouldn't you be playin' with the other twerps? The grown ups are tryin' ta relax.

[ A giggle, and Makalaure leans forward to fling arms around Will in a hug before scooting back and beaming at him, the watergun forgotten for now ]

Silly, the game is for all'a us, that's what the dark and light ladies say! But Cano doesn't know anyone here. [ A curious tip of the head ] Cano doesn't know who you are, but the Song says you're safe! So... [ a shy duck of his head ] Will you play with Cano, sir?
