Alexia definitely thinks of Grell as a "worthy fond acquaintance", and the only person she can think of who she might actively approach without any particular aim or course in mind - Grell is dignified, bold, and intelligent, and Alexia flatters herself that in that case, they're birds of a feather; there can't more worthwhile company than that.
And while it's true that she wouldn't want any prompting for either of them to treat the other on a hierarchal level to go cramping that, on one hand with as much as Grell's apparent position of sorts in the Drabwurld, Alexia has her jotted down as a potential quote-unquote friend in a higher (or at least different or closer-to-the-heart) place; and on the other, Alexia wouldn't question her belief that she herself is the smarter of the two of them (they've obviously got some difference in opinions, namely about magic, and if Alexia's opinions weren't closer to the right ones well, she wouldn't see fit to stick to them, surely) but one part because of and in one part in spite of that reason, she finds Grell's perspective and brain likewise of particular potential use/interest to pick.

tbh alexia is the smarter one if she wouldn't go take all the risks grell does. recklessness =/= the better move
