one!
Auron, however, does not, and that alone gives them at least a little something in common.] Not a fan of parties?
no subject
Not a fan of much.
[he shrugs lightly, allowing himself a wry chuckle.]
They're doing fine without me.
no subject
There was no one there that was familiar to you, was there? [He feels you, bro. He feels you.]
no subject
[basically everyone he knows, past or present, would have done something really noticeable and stupid by now. it's partially why Auron doesn't really expect to find anyone in the living quarters, but even now he's a perpetually hopeful man. it's darkly humorous, in its own way.]
I hope you've been having better luck.
[aka any. since Auron can only assume that he's wandering around also looking out for familiar faces, rather than hoping to steal panties or something else.]
no subject
But no, he had already assumed the worse: that he fudged up when he removed the diamond and had been warped here alone by imps the thing had summoned.] I'm not. It's probably better that way.
no subject
[it's not so much a probing question as it is something of a wry comment. this world doesn't seem like it would be particularly safe (or welcoming) for anyone who didn't stand to benefit from war, but Auron knows from personal experience that the worlds people leave behind can be just as unpleasant.
personally, he's grateful that this time there don't seem to be any strange and irritatingly commonplace machines.]
no subject
Carefully, he looks up ahead, and then back over his shoulder, and then again at the other man. No miraculously appearing companions.]
For them I'd hope, but I can't be sure. [There is no telling what the hell will go down if he's taken out of the picture. He likes to think nothing, yet he also likes to think he was more useful than that.] I doubt this place is any better.
no subject
[he chuckles darkly, the sound carrying no real humor in it. yes, this place and its conflicts certainly reminded him of the politics Yevon was steeped in.]
We should be in for a good time.
no subject
There's not much we can do about being here, but I'm as much of a fan of politics as I am of parties.
no subject
[at least among people who can see things as they are. he cants his head to the side, gaze running down the corridor of doors behind them. yes, this place really did remind him too much of Spira. another joke from the universe.]
I wonder if they'll allow us to to remain detached.
no subject
Imps are naturally devious. When they start saying you're valuable, it's time to be concerned.
Have you explored far?
no subject
Just through the floors from the party to here. I don't intend to linger.
no subject
But he seriously doubts any incriminating evidence is going to be just lying around in the open for them to see.] What's your name?
no subject
[he doesn't bow or extend his hand for a shake or. really give any indication that he cares very much about the introduction. but his tone is even and he's actually given his name, which for Auron is about as good as anyone could expect from him.]
no subject
[For a moment, he pauses thoughtfully. He doesn't know Auron very well, but he thinks they may be on similar pages.] I'll let you know if I learn anything.
no subject
[he inclines his head, then smirks a little bit]
I'll try to do the same...if they don't arrest me first.
[a twist of humor, and perhaps a grain of truth. Auron's naturally private, but there aren't the same politics in play here, nothing quite so tightly personal to the information he might come across. there's no reason to keep any of it to himself - after all, not everyone has the luxury of being able to wait this conflict out before they return home.]
no subject
He nods politely, then begins again where he left off: heading in the opposite direction of Auron's path.]
