Did you know that at least 50% of the population here doesn't even know what a credit card is?
[Somehow that seems like the safer topic than "what the actual fuck are you doing here?"]
network;
[No she didn't know that. Surprise. The bigger question, though, is does she care? Honestly, how do people survive without credit cards?]
Where are you?
[Hi. She means hi.]
network;
Truth be told, he's actually pretty caught off-guard. One minute he'd been hanging out in Cothromach helping out and the next his sister's face is all over the network and seriously, why couldn't this have happened some other time?
But. He thinks he's happy...maybe? Nah, he's missed her terribly but he's not going to actually say that until he gauges her attitude. If she's still mad at him about Juilliard...oh man.]
Why, where're you?
network;
[DUH. Wow, she actually had to say that. Shame on you, Ryan.]
I'm in some dark creepy castle. There are tiny things here that have a ridiculous amount of teeth. Ew.
network;
--some dark creepy castle in Caer Scima surrounded by imps. Wait. Wait, that can't be right. If Sharpay's over in Caer Scima's castle with the imps then that would mean--
...aw shit.]
Wait, what are you doing over there? [There has to be a mistake. Right? They're twins. They have to be in the same court, there's no way. ]
network;
I don't know. I just ended up here. It's not like I picked it. Believe me. The dark wood in here does nothing for my skin tone.
network;
Well at least you've got your priorities straight. [There's a huff.] Don't worry about it, I'm going to figure out how to get you back over here. Sounds like the fairies just led you to the wrong place.
[He hopes. As much as he wishes for that to be true, there's still that pretty loud voice in his head that says "hey, doofus, she's actually supposed to be over there duh." He liked ignoring that voice a lot though.] Okay so you're in the castle right? Head outside if you can.
network;
[Excuse you? Also, there's a serious look of dislike on the whole 'going outside thing'.]
So - I go outside and then what?
[Because there are freaky things in the castle and she's too pretty to die.]
network;
Anyway! Looks like there's a fairy-ring just outside of the castle. You can probably head out there and teleport here. [Of course he's underestimating how long it'll take her to get to the ring and he hasn't used the rings himself, but it sounds look a good idea. He's not even looking at Sharpay anymore. He's actually using a pen to mark some stuff on his map, writing new things and tracing a path he thinks she can take.
Look at that, your twin's actually figured some stuff out in his time here. And, scarily enough, he doesn't even seem to notice it might seem unusual.] You remember everything we learned from those equestrian lessons Dad let us take when we were ten, right? There should be a horse waiting for you in the stables.
network;
[So much whining.]
I don't have my riding clothes. Or boots. Or the Dolce & Gabanna horse blanket Daddy got me. Also, horseback riding in a corset and leather pants?
[Um. No.]
Why is it so far away?
[She'll go, she just... Needs to work up the desire to actually go do it.]
network;
Either find new clothes, or stay there then. [A shrug.] I don't know, I didn't design the world. [He's not sure if this is going to work, but he pauses, just fixing her with a slightly sad look. He's not Sharpay by any longshot, but he's learned a trick or two.] You want to come find me, don't you?
network;
[Oh no. Not the puppy dog look. Crap.]
Fine. FINE.
[She snaps her fingers and mumbles something about a map and a pen before they appear beside her. She gives a dismissive wave before putting down the locket to draw her own lines on the map to mirror his own. Picking it back up she angles it so he can see the map.]
Does this look right?
network;
I think so! Looks like mine, anyway. [Though that's assuming that his map is right.] I don't know what's outside of that castle though. It might not be a bad idea to...[You know. Ask for help. Find an escort/bodyguard. Something. He's actually wracking his brain for who he knows over in Caer Scima.] There's people coming in and out of the castles all the time. You might be able to hitch a ride with somebody else, too.
[Give him some credit, okay? He's working on the fly, he's never had to execute a rescue mission before.]
network;
It was totally time to prove she could do something for herself. How else was she apparently gonna get anything done around here?]
I'll be fine.
[Maybe.]
I'm gonna pack up my things and I'll head over to the stables.
network;
Or just stay on the phone until you get there. Locket. Whatever. [He already has a handful with making sure Kelsi doesn't get herself killed, now he has to watch his sister, too? It's...not entirely unexpected, but it's a little nerve-wracking.]
Hey. What's the last thing you remember from home?
network;
I'll stay on the locket thing and if it looks dicey, I'll head back.
[Her tone is missing it's usual hoity-toityness as she starts to move through the hall. She keeps her head held high, ignoring all the weird crap she passes.]
Um, graduation. You?
Re: network;
However, when she asks for information in return he just sort of a makes a 'ehhh' noise in return.]
...well when I got here the first time, it was still senior year. Kelsi and I had just finished putting together the prom number for the show. Then some weird stuff happened, I fell into some coma for a week or something and woke up at the bottom of a lake and I knew it was October back home. I mean it's not like I went anywhere or anything but it's kind of like that I guess because I gained about six months of new memories. [Ryan get to the point.]
I've been in New York for two months.
