Timeskip CR Meme

While similar to the CR meme in some ways, the fields within the text area below are meant to facilitate planning and plotting so that by the time the CR meme rolls around everyone has a much clearer idea of what all has been happening and in what direction they are heading, especially as the timeskip looms large on the horizon.

Should you need it, you can always refer to the re-posted Timeskip Calendar for ideas! Characters have already been starting up businesses (coffee shops, playhouses, a P.I. office, even a business selling non-locket network devices!) so be sure to check it out!

If you intend to opt out of the timeskip, please PM the mod account with the dates/nature of your opt out!

As a note, please remember the following:

• There will be no new shardbearers, no monthly events (and perforce no boons). Monarch contact will be limited to include shardbearers highly ranked within their court.


• Fairy rings will be inoperable. Powers, abilities, and boons may be used to allow for fast-travel. Otherwise, characters must hoof it to where they wish to go.


• Lockets will not work. Characters would need traditional means to keep in touch, or need to fashion (or purchase) their own alternative means of magical communication. These alternative devices can be used on the network alongside lockets, and can be fashioned to interact with lockets.


• Border violence will be the norm. Small incursions and raids into enemy territory will be frequent. Unseelie in Seelie territory, and vice versa, will be hunted by patrols/town guards/etc. NPC guards may unexpectedly drop into threads where characters are in enemy territory.


• Boons all perform to their original specifications. None are depowered or vanished, though all would show the signs of age as appropriate for the passage of time.


• Influence and quests would continue to be given and rewarded as normal (one quest per player per ooc month), for our OOC sanity. PCs who are able to give quests are encouraged to have an expanded docket of them at the ready.

Planned Travel: Probs sticking about there for a bit, but capable of fast travel and flitting about for short jaunts to new places.
General overview of recent events: The Brucolac is the Baron of Srathmarbh/the Ninth Spire, fought in the battle of An Carn Ban and was around the Station when the Jabberwock was killed. He took an enchanted arrow to the shoulder which fucked him up. He has announced that the Srathspire is open to refugees, especially vampires.
Recent open threads/posts: Uhh, it's all battle stuff which I think I've had my fill of, but I may throw up an open log at Spire 9 shortly.

Who are your character's known associates/friends/enemies?:

• Friends: Grell Sutcliffe, Harry Potter, Effy Stonem, Waver Velvet, Alice Liddel, Alyosha Hazan, Ariadne, Vol'jin.


• Allies, Business Associates: Tzilan, Rin Tohsaka, Dasha.


• Enemies: Tarz, Seelie!Lancelot, Faolan, Severine I guess.


• Bag 'em and tag 'em: Alyosha, Yseult (player NPC), a pyrii whose name he doesn't know.

What notable events has my character been a part of?:

• Killing the dragon beneath Redgate.


• Turning Alyosha Hazan into a vampire.


• Stealing back the stolen feathers of the bird king. Not giving them back because he does what he wants/IS GOING TO GET ROUND TO IT, GOD, STOP BOTHERING HIM.


• Killing Reynard the Fox.


• Leading an expedition to Verla to find a way to kill the Jabberwock.


• Gambling away two unborn kids in an attempt to kill Reynard's daughter Severine. It's okay, he's sold himself to the Unseelie monarchs for their safety, and Alyosha's going to look after them. So that's fine. It's all fine. ...:(


• Present an An Carn Ban cutting a line of carnage through Seelie ranks; at the Station when the Jabberwock died mostly just completely misunderstanding Lancelot and Faolan and then writhing around on the ground screaming and crying because magic arrow.

What can other characters easily ICly learn about your character?:

• Scary vampire, likes other scary vampires. Easily moved by their plight, though also strict with those he takes under his wing. Easily made furious by what he sees as injustices perpetrated against vampires or other non-humans.


• Former sailor, with the mouth to match.


• Worships the moon; fascinated with religion and mythology.


• Baron of Srathmarbh, fierce Unseelie soldier/leader of troops.


• If new, it's quite easy to discover that while he may seem loyally Unseelie now, that wasn't always so straightforwardly the case; quite a few people have heard him muttering hatefully about Morla.


• A member of the Midnight Court; under moonlight, a snake tattoo appears on his right hand.


• Has big plans for Srathmarbh, though what those plans are are unclear.

What information is limited to specific CR?:

• He's not at all so sold on the Unseelie cause as his position suggests, but he is beginning to feel it's the only realistic option. Nonetheless, he has a great many neutral connections.


• A relatively new player in the Drabwurld's drug scene, selling booned drugs, various potions and some native...herbal remedies. He plans to assassinate the main Big Name in Mair, Mr Bones, so that his business partner Dasha can usurp him.


• The Srathmarbh plans involve flying ships. Goddamn.


• Father of two children due in late September/early October. Relatedly: screwed a pyrii (hot) and has a kind of kept woman in Mair (that's Yseult, she's lovely).


• Has a distinctly complicated relationship with Alyosha Hazan.


• He has a sigil in his possession! It's 'Change', and he just keeps it around his neck in the form of a key because he's a goddamn idiot.


• He mounted that expedition to Verla; he also betrayed Lancelot and Faolan there by offering them as sacrifices to the pyrii, resulting in Faolan's death. c:


• By the end of the timeskip, he'll have published two pamphlets/books, both under pennames; certain CR will know of his authorship, but otherwise it'll be kept quiet.

What information is my character willing to share/can be readily discovered if another works to uncover it?:

• Drugs trade, criminal connections: the Brucolac is willing to induct new people into his criminal circle, make introductions, and also charge PCs with various quests relating to the criminal underground. (When...he can give out quests, which will hopefully be the case pre-timeskip.)


• Airships and skyports: if relevant, the Brucolac may offer information about this, but would probably go through Rin first as a matter of etiquette.


• Oh God The World's Ending: B knows a reasonable amount about the metaplot. Also, sigils, but that's very tough to get out of him.


• Pretty much anything in the 'specific cr' thing, to be honest, though possibly not from the horse's mouth; if you think it'd be fun to have your character discover something, whether inadvertently or not, hit me up and we'll talk it through.

• Srathmarbh becomes a thriving, somewhat ramshackle centre of construction and commerce; an eternal work-in-progress, it is known for its opportunistic architecture and also its printing press.


• The children are born, rescued and placed in the care of Alyosha Hazan, with whom the Brucolac...perhaps reconciles?


• The Brucolac helps build and comes into possession of a flying ship.


• His three slake-grubs hatch into full-blown brain-eating moths. He uses them to assassinate Mr Bones. Drugs trade flourishes. (Dependent upon being able to find a way to control them!)


• MAGIC. Srathmarbh will have a number of fountains and waterfalls, natural and manmade; the Brucolac will be looking into using these to capture the power of the moon, as taught to him by Linn. He'll also be experimenting with bullshitting more rituals and working on his shadow magic.


• Generally: increased political capital, a well-known Unseelie governor, sliiightly more positive relationships with vampire clans, more settled in himself, far more to lose. B)

right now yukari's main concern is making enough cash to support themselves away from the castle ( because yukari is not really picking up what the monarchs are putting down ), so yes! the midnight court stuff would be an A+ start!!

i really don't have any set major goals for yukari as of yet since she is still relatively new, but as long as the brucolac doesn't want her hunting any ghosts she'll be happy to offer whatever services she can around his spire! ps: that's not a euphemism

Since Arno's going to be working within Spire 9, I'd really love for him to actually possibly meet with the Brucolac sometime, just to get to know him! You aren't the only one who's got a neutral standing with a dash of Unseelie thrown in on this whole war here- Arno's very familiar with that kind of stuff and is striving to find an answer for it that will benefit everyone as a whole.

Bruc's main beef here is a kind of smaller scale sociopolitical thing of 'x people are Bad People' leading to x people doing bad things to survive in a world which considers them bad people (x people are usually vampires, also see Why Brucolac Is Uncomfortable With Seelie)--but I ffffigure that could tie in reasonably well to what Loki has to bitch about?

ALSO, he wants to lern sum (more) magic. currently he can manipulate, hide in and move imperceptibly through shadow; he's also a dab hand at making up rituals (if in doubt, shed some blood! is a rule which works well in the Drabwurld).

yes, loki will very readily talk about multiversal and dimensional resonance. loki is actually a victim of it, and his current canon is all about trying to counter the ideas that the universe writes about you to become a completely different person under your own influence. he's had a few jogs around the multiverse and has traveled around mayfly dimensions for a year SO IF YOU GET HIM TALKING HE GENERALLY WILL NOT SHUT UP. the multiverse is kind of dominated by "evil" lokis, and he doesn't want to be an "evil" loki, so hence the whole war of loki vs. the universe. (it gets political and more complicated than that, BUT WHO KNOWS HE MIGHT TOTALLY OPEN UP ABOUT HOW PERSONAL IT IS.) tl;dr loki is all about freedom and writing your own future. (there's also the ragnarok cycle that's been happening over a millennia that this reminds him DEEPLY of.) i WOULD LOVE FOR THEM TO GET INTO METAPLOT TOO, so maybe a little bonding and then they can tentatively talk of things.

and we can do that too!! it might become a game of push and pull because lokis good at manipulation himself, but he really does enjoy a good game? so there's the tug of "bad people" versus "what loki things good intentions are" and where loki messes up and i'll just WAVE MY ARMS AROUND. if they talk about reynard and the anti-shardbearer movement, there might be something there too. that will def be a little later on loki's timeskip and a few months in.

YES. After March 22, Spire 9 will be home to a great number of native vampires, so there are opportunities for interactions there as well! Plus Paloma's there, bein' cute. He's always very eager to discuss what exactly being a vampire means for different people--and prefers to be well-informed when it comes to fellow shardbearers in his lands more generally, so if she turns up, she's likely to get a polite invitation to come chat. (Dinner? Dinner.)

Hi!! I'm kind of floating around to each Spire runner to let you know that Clarke was charged by Saber to implement medical stations at each of the Spires over timeskip. This can either be handwaved, or we can work out an alternative to thread part of it! I have a super basic outline of which Spires Clarke will be at over the course of timeskip here! Clarke will get the clinic started, and if you'd like to handwave her training NPC's who want to work in the clinic, I'm totally open to that.

If you'd like your characters Spire opted out of this just let me know!

The Brucolac would greatly welcome this. It's possible that Jekyll/Hyde will have left some infrastructure in place, and B will certainly have certainly tried to arrange for medical care and tried to get a decent body of medical practicioners set up. Still, his grasp of such is very...steampunk, so while there may be some sawboneses knocking around Srathmarbh, they will probably be either quacks or expensive or both. I'm happy to either handwave or play it out!

Will this clinic be under the control of the Brucolac in terms of expenses etc, or would it be a privately owned business?
