alexander ( hamilton ) | ...angelite?
Yo, does this place reek of revolution, or is that just me?
[ Hello, yes, drabwurld, you have been presented with one (1) Alexander Hamilton. Yes, that Alexander Hamilton. He's looking fairly young here, maybe not fresh off of a duel but fresh off of some fairly nasty cabinet debates instead, and still dressed in the frippery that Thomas Jefferson so kindly called 'fake royalty', Which, TJ's just mad no one likes France like he does, and therefore he can drink his haterade somewhere that is not in Hamilton's general presence.
...Right. Anyway.
He grins, cocky, cheeky, everything you'd expect (or maybe not.) ] I'm not gonna mince words--this place is a mess. A charming mess, but a mess nonetheless. Fairy tales or not, you know, monarchies are more out of style than a party at Monticello, and courts are pushing it a little closer to "long live the ruler" than long live democracy, but hey! What do I know. I only helped topple one of the biggest empires in the world. I can respect the whole "rebirth of a nation" thing, but if you're bringing me here, I'm so getting my hands in it.
[ He's not throwing away his shot, as it were. ]
What's the money situation like? Besides [ He bobs his head left and right, maybe a little(???) sarcastic. ] mythical and golden or something. I'm talking coin and who's gonna manage it. If you've got any information, I'd appreciate hearing it.
[ a beat. ] And if the General's around and listening, I'm here, sir.
no subject
But she wants to tease him.]
Trashtalk and bravado. It is a start, but not so impressive yet.
Why are you interested in the economy, little uproar?
no subject
Well, I can't exactly bring you my resume. [ Hamilton grins anyway, all of his boyish charm present all over his face. ] But I'm the Secretary of the Treasury of the new United States of America. I'm consolidating the states' debts to establish a national bank at home--getting the proverbial blood pumping right at the heart of the nation, you know?
[ Hamilton sit down they haven't approved your plan yet. ] I know my way around a treasury, believe me. [ It's not the only thing he knows his way around, as his friends might add. ] Is it bravado if you can back it up with facts?
no subject
Mahsa has always liked the brash ones.]
Are they facts if the only proof behind them is the air issued from your own lips?
[She reminds herself to be nice, and with a gracious inclination of her head, she allows the point.] But enough. I'm sure you know how to prove yourself here. Laurels don't make for easy resting, no? So tell me, are you hoping to overthrow the monarchy, or are you auditioning to run their books?
[Being nice is hard. She can't do it. SHE JUST WANTS TO SEE WHAT HE DOES OK stop judging her]
no subject
Well, that depends on how well it's all being run, doesn't it?
[ He delivers this line flawlessly, a little gleeful at the debate. Snappy discussions with women--it's like being with Angelica, which never gets old. Don't worry: no judgement here. ] I'm still new in town, but if it's broken, you can bet I'll do my damndest to fix it. No matter what that takes.
no subject
[Although she rebukes him for his terms, she doesn't truly disapprove. It is the nature of the passionate to speak in extremes and only later learn their own limits. The centuries have taught her as much.]
The economy is medieval. The monarchy is based on power. Magical power, power of such greatness it might be called Godly, and the power in that link made between the Shard in your chest and the Gem of creation.
[She raises her eyebrows.] How will you fix that?
[She hopes he tries to meet the challenge. It is so unpleasant to find a supposed firebrand who just gives up.]
no subject
[ What, you have magic? Okay, I'll go learn it. All of it. You got it. ]
So, magic power, monarchy, and an economy. From what I heard from someone else this place's seven courts and one form of money. Build a bank that each court contributes to in the center and use that to circulate and standardize currency and exchange--since bartering's probably still involved on the local level--in order to stabilize the economy and bring it back into the 1700s. [ Your age is showing, Alexander. ] From there, it's a matter of getting to meet the people who are in charge and figuring out if they're ruling with a wrong hand--which, in my experience, most of 'em do. If you need a revolution--chka-plao, [
Apparently that's how you spell that.] a revolution will come.no subject
She definitely wants to see him try.]
Meeting those in control may need to come first, and you will need to charm them. I worry, little uproar. Will you set aside your flames to set an accord for gold?
no subject
[Because MAN were those natives and people angry. Being tossed back in time left some of that animosity and the Void itself far off in the future.]
[But hey the anti-monarchy stuff sounds good to him t b q h.]
It's gold and silver coins, with a side of bartering and trade. It's not like there's any one centralized government right now to manage it.
no subject
No centralized what now? What kind of broken Anti-Federalist crock of--
[ This is totally fine. Absolutely fine. Where's Jefferson. This reeks of Jefferson. They're going to have some Words.
Alexander will fight him. ] Well, that's a start, damn.no subject
["Better" because at least the rules and threat of execution for cross-court interaction has seemingly lessened?? But.] The money's good anywhere since it's all the same.
no subject
Whatever, Alexander loves a challenge. ]
Is there some kind of bank system, or are we all just flying by the seat of our pants here?
no subject
[Not that he had a bank back home tbh, but he does know what they are.]
