Looking for a little slice of home? The Station gives you all that and more. Take advantage of the wifi, have a cup of fairy-brewed coffee (the one they didn't spit in) or sit back and relax on the patio. You can even move your things into one of the available rooms!

[that's...kind of comforting and at the same time not at all. good to see a familiar face here. terrible to think that even the master of slipping into the nearest shadow and disappearing couldn't get away.]

Yeah, walked right into the fairy circle. I'm also not all that keen on being treated like a "precious" commodity because of some Shard.

[And he's extremely annoyed by all of this.]

I'm pretty sure most people wouldn't be. So even shadow traveling doesn't work?

[Nico frowns and gives a light shrug.]

Haven't tried just yet. I should still be able to, but if we're in another world, then I doubt I can just travel from here to there.

['Cause it's never that easy for them.]

Can you still fly?

Yeah, but flying isn't going to be any more helpful than shadow travel if you're right. Even if it's not really another world, I wouldn't know which way to go.

[the idea's got him frowning as well. he could try regardless, but the likely uselessness of doing so makes him feel a lot more helpless than he's accustomed to.]

No, but it'll make travel easier if we need to go somewhere else to get more information. It also stands to reason that the rest of our powers still work, too.

[At least that's a comfort. They won't be going in with a sword and a smile, though that also means that everyone else's powers are still intact.]

I doubt anything will be so easy as just blasting our way through, though. Past experience kinda has me wary of anything from any kind of myth or folklore, not just the Roman and Greek stuff. Especially if they've got the power to drag people into another world entirely.

Getting wise in your old age, Grace. Do you have a plan in mind?

Not really. I kinda got used to not being the one making plans, working with Annabeth.

[as it turns out, it's nice not having to be the leader of every operation. not very useful right now, but he kind of liked that taste of relative normality.]

Then you're going to have to get into the habit again. I plan on getting out of this city and take a look around. Maybe I'll find something.

[Thalia will probably ask Artemis to turn him into an animal for the Hunters to hunt.

I've been on my own for years. This is nothing new. I'll tell you whatever information I come across, but I'm not expecting you to tag along.

[His tone implies he doesn't want that anyway.]

Just because you've been working alone doesn't mean you have to. We're comrades. I'd rather have someone I trust watching my back, anyway.

[Nico wants to cross his arms, but there is a goblet in his hand and he'd rather not spill the contents all over the place. He can't deny that Jason does trust him since...he drank a cup full of poison for him.]

Comrades. Right. I can work faster and way more quieter on my own.

[He lifts the locket they all received after arriving here from the inside of his shirt, and looks somewhat resigned.]

Besides, free communication and no rainbows needed.

[it's not the most satisfying response, but it's better than nothing, and he knows better than to push too hard too soon.]

As long as you'll at least stay in touch...

[he'll be nice and drop it, instead glancing uncertainly at the goblet in nico's hand.]

So...does the food here seem safe?

[Nico makes a grunt in response. He's sure that if he doesn't, Jason will be calling at all hours of the day to make sure.]

It's safe enough, but I'd probably trust human or dwarf settlements' food more. Either way, I think we'd have to take a chance on it. No matter what, we're stuck here for the time being. Eating and drinking isn't going to make that much of a difference.

[The son of Hades frowns a little.]

It's also possible that these Shards they keep going on about protect us from that sort of curse.

[his frown deepens a little, apparently not entirely convinced -- they might be stuck here now, but wouldn't it suck to find themselves chained to the place even after they found a way out? it's a lot more speculation than he can really be comfortable with.

unfortunately, starvation really is a more immediate problem than any possible food-based curses. and even if he was right to have been concerned, it wouldn't really feel right to find a way out and have to leave behind a friend who'd already gone ahead and drank their fairy juice.

sighing, he shrugs and snags a goblet of something from the tray of a passing fae server.]

[Nico doesn't like it, either, but while his diet says otherwise, he really doesn't want to starve or die of thirst. Better to take a chance in his opinion. He just takes a sip of what's in his goblet in response, which is thankfully water. Very good, clean water, too.]

There might be some spirits I can talk to, but I'll have to do some research first. Celtic ghosts are typically more different than Greek and Roman.

[And if he's honest, he really wants to meet a Will'O Wisp.]

What do you think the chances are that fairyland has a library with books in a language we can actually read?

[he takes an idle sip from his goblet and immediately makes a face. that is definitely not water.]

I've been listening in on other conversations, and I'm pretty sure that fairyland typically doesn't speak English. So, I'd assume that they've enchanted either us or something else so that we can all understand each other. I don't know if that extends to reading, but it'd be pretty useless of them to offer the library if we couldn't.

[Nico shrugs, and looks slightly amused at the face Jason makes. He'll take sadistic humor for $200, Alex.]

I get the feeling "magic" is gonna be the answer to most questions about this place.

and as much as he appreciates nico being anything other than moody and antisocial, the fact that it comes at the cost of his discomfort is a little less nice. for a moment his frown looks almost petulant, and then he steels himself and continues sipping at his drink with a determinedly straight face.]

[The amusement is still there, but it's gone after a moment. He shrugs in response.]

I didn't expect much else. But after everything we're used to, I was sort of hoping this stuff would be simpler in comparison.
