[ They are both giving the table a solid once over- but of the pair, Jolly is clearly more invested than his companion.

It isn't his fault.
They have cake after all. ]

D'you mean like the Persephone that's sort of kidnapped and held hostage- or the Persephone that becomes Dread Queen of the Underworld? Because I'm rather more willing for one than the other all things considered.

[ Jas hums thoughtfully and wedges himself into the spot next to his friend, turning the shining apple over in his palm. he wonders at it's gleaming skin, and polishes it on his left wrist. ]

You plan on becoming Dread Queen, Jolly Roger?
foreshadowing: (☠do he got the booty)

Well I only mean, if the choice is between Queen and Hostage, it's not really much of a question is it?

[ For lack of anything to do with his hands (as they have yet to settle the Are We Eating question) Jolly's fingers light on the carved backing of a particularly ornate chair. He doesn't care much for the upholstery. ]

[ Jas hums again, tilting his head left and right. ]

We've been indoctrinated into war. It's rather a bit of both, don't you think?

[ then he turns to Jolly and rolls his wrist, holding the apple out to him palm up. the bright blue of his eyes shine. ]

You can't really trust a fairy to keep it's word. Or so I've heard.
foreshadowing: (☠topping swank bitches)

We've been indoctrinated into piracy first. [ There isn't even the vaguest semblance of resistance, really. Jolly takes the apple the very moment it's offered- spins it idly between his palms. ] Do you imagine fairies understand precedence? No, probably not.

[ His teeth leave an imperfect circle torn away from the apple's side, and he hasn't even swallowed by the time he offers it back. ]

I imagine fairies couldn't be bothered to care about human etiquette, what with their habit of stealing babies and the like.

[ thought he quirk of his mouth doesn't leave, Jas watches his face shrewdly as his companion chews and swallows, never looking away even as he takes the apple back from his hand. when no immediate ill befalls his friend, only then does he take a bite for the apple himself. he then leans his elbow on the table. ]
foreshadowing: (☠i totally did your mom)

What about those of us that aren't babies?

[ He knows Jas is watching him. But the thought that his friend would be waiting- wanting to see what (if anything) will happen before he too takes a bite- simply doesn't occur to him.

Jolly Roger always has been a loyalist.
He's also still eyeing that cake. ]

Is that where the war part comes in? I hadn't really been listening I'm afraid. It was all rather distracting.

Mn— [ he's stopped truly paying attention to the state of whether they should or should not eat any of the food, munching on the apple and ignoring the fact that Jolly is eyeing the cake like a particularly delectable sweetie. he swallows, politely, before speaking. ] In part. We've been spirited away to fight in the war. The Seelie and Unseelie are at one another's throats and apparently don't have enough of their own to wage their battles.
