belle french | once upon a time
As if that were not enough there is still a hollow ache inside of her chest, an echoing memory of Rumplestiltskin. The dagger had never disappeared, she was sure of it, there had to be a way to find him - but how could she do it if she wasn't entirely sure of where she was? This wasn't like any realm she had ever seen before in her lifetime.
After a moment's hesitation, gathering her skirts around herself, she steps forward and touches a stranger's arm gently. ]
Excuse me? Have you seen a man named Baelfire, by chance?

because it's one thing to be told that you are never going to see your son ever again. another to be told he, and emma, won't remember anything about you, while you are being whisked away to the one land you could have gone the rest of your life never seeing again. it's something completely different to show up here, and be told that, and then all but waved off and told to enjoy yourself because you're now fighting a war. at least he knew the enchanted forest, had gotten in and out and back and away again so many times, what's one more? this? this was something different, and while the magic and the faeries and the people didn't quite bother him, this isn't where he wants to be. these aren't the people he wants to be with.
he needs to find regina. the charmings, needs to find belle and figure out a way back to his father's house and maybe, just maybe, there will be enough magic to-
and then a stranger grabs his arm, and when he turns, he gives a sigh of relief. ]
Belle. [ there's one person down. ] You okay?

[ Her arms are around his neck before she can even think to say or do anything else, a weight lifting from her heart. It's not just that he's her connection to her true love or that he's Rumple's son; it's that he's her family, now, someone she cherishes beyond something as simple as the ties that Rumplestiltskin had left them with. He's someone to be cared for, tended for, now, in her mind, and she would certainly go out of her way to take care of him.
Lifting a hand to his cheek, she tilts her head and offers a soft, caring smile, nodding once. She's just so glad he's here and that he's alright; together they can get out of this place, she's sure, and find a way to bring Rumple back to them. ]
I'm alright. Are you? I don't know what the curse breaking meant for us - you're not hurt? Ill?

the touch to his arm has him tense up, and he turns around to face the voice that's addressing him. he'd been hoping it was a friend, but as soon as he registers the voice, he knew it couldn't be.]
No, sorry. Never heard of the guy.

[ Her heart sinks a little and she looks around, nervous, before she breathes out and forces herself to relax. No need to panic, right? She was sure that if she was brought here then there was a high chance that Baelfire and the rest of them were here too. It's just a matter of finding them. ]
I'm sorry for bothering you - my name is Belle.
no subject
It's cool. I'm Isaac. Nice to meet you.
[because the circumstance isn't exactly nice, but isaac is trying to be polite; that's what matters.]
What does he look like?
no subject
He's about a head taller than me with scruffy brown hair. I wish I had a photo of him...
[ She pauses, looking down at her very fairytale-esque dress. Not going to get much help here. ]
He also goes by the name of Neal, if that helps?
no subject
Doesn't ring any bells, either. And I dunno about you, but there are plenty of people here with brown hair that are taller than you.
[he motions to himself half-heartedly.]
I'll keep an eye out, though.
no subject
[ Belle sighs, looking a little petulant and put out by it all before she shakes her head and straightens. ]
There might be another man - taller than me with brownish-silver hair, well-dressed in a suit with a cane. He might have a dagger with him? He's older than the both of us, as well, if that helps at all.
no subject
[a beat,]
A cane and a dagger.
[the only person he's seen with a dagger is a woman he'd spoken to earlier -- blonde and pretty -- but not a man.]
Nope. Can't help you there, either.
no subject
No, my lady, I have not. Have you lost your companion?
no subject
Yes, I think so. There were quite a few of us, actually, and I can't find a single one of them.
no subject
[ Poor child, so dejected. It wouldn't be right to ignore her downcast mood. ]
