He thinks Lydia is very bright (both as far as intelligence goes and also personality) and sweet, caring (so willing to go out of her ways for other) and strong! Her inquisitiveness is most endearing to him, and so very reminiscing of himself in his youth especially. c: He has and will always have infinite patience for her, all her questions and everything she wants to know, kind of like a big brother figure. Similarly he's very fond of her and will always be very comfortable around her.
She's definitely under his protective wing annnd should she want to, when he's settled and has everything worked out, she will be welcome to come live with the elves, to be safe and learn what she wants to learn.
He really finds Nico genuinely admirable and very strong to have a power such as he does and remain sane, most caring about others, and ... you know, not wanting to die, though he's also aware of what a great burden it must be to him at all times so kinda... with both those combined, it was very natural that he'd want to help him / support him and feel particularly protective over him. He very much will want to bring some light and comfort into Nico's life, and build him up, if you will, since he can sense it as rather necessary, but also because that's what he does with people he likes.
Also the way he gets excitable when talking about stories? When his Italian shows so very much? Legolas finds it super adorable and he'd listen to him talk about the things he likes any day, any time, for the sake of the story but to also see him so animated.
And lastly! He doesn't know how old Nico is, but he would be very much convinced he's older than he really is, because of his overall maturity and the way he managed to cope so far. c:
GOD Maglor is a pickle for him. He knows of his past deeds, it's not his place to forgive and forget, yet he cannot hate him for it, given his state. That's one, and also because of the care (even though it was out of guilt) he has shown him when he needed it the most and despite Legolas's own attempts at ... ahem dissuading him. He'd very much like to help him live and atone and accept his past (never forget though) and start looking forward, or at this very moment. Of course he cannot even imagine the sort of things that go through his head, he cannot imagine what the Oath has done / is doing to him, but he also sees him now as more a tool in his father's hands than an evil villain of his own, if that makes sense. In some ways he sees him as a victim as well? Though not entirely blameless of course, but primarily - just like he had as a child - he feels sympathy for him for all the shit that happened.
Besides the serious stuff, he thinks Maglor could be really great company if he would only ah "cheer up" skdjfhsdf he admires his singing and sharing stories with him, and when it's light and easy he truly enjoys his company and humour. c:
John is basically Aragorn 2.0 for him, as far as their relationship goes ofc, while John remains his own person. Legolas would go above and beyond for him, offer him all the support and basically march right into the fire and death with him should he actually actively ask for it. The time when John was riding with Thranduil to the Station and they spoke on the lockets, when John said that he will always have a place with him? Those were such an unbelievably important words for him to hear, basically sealed his trust and (platonic!! DON'T CRY JOHN) love for him.
In a way the fact that John can't die is a relief, because well, can't die, but it's also a great pain: because literally living through all that pain and suffering of terrible injuries and everything, but also if John ends up immortal over it? Humans weren't exactly brought up with the idea of living for hundreds or thousands of years, so Legolas knows that would be a great source of pain and suffering for him as well and that's something, at some point, that he'd like to teach John to cope with. Since it's better to start now, because holy fuck it'll take time. Or help him learn cope with what may come, if that makes sense.
Much like Legolas will always find a place with him, John will always find a place with Legolas and he'll help and comfort him always. In a month, in a year, in a hundred of years. They may not always see eye to eye on some matters and there's the whole OLD VS MODERN thing here that may sometimes make it difficult for them to understand each other, but he's willing to make the effort to understand John's world and his views! He respects him and he appreciates the patience John has for him, he appreciates John's subtle humour like whoah too and taking in stride all his teasing.
PECULIAR AND STRANGE AND UNNERVING, but he doesn't find him evil, just... more like strictly neutral and maybe a bit whimsical and highly potentially like the sort prone to doing things out of boredom. He'd very much like to stay on his good side though and he'll be seeking out more contact due to that, as a sort of this... keep potentially powerful beings on your good side rather than neutral about you (because neutral can mean bad things in its own right, since NO FUCKS TO GIVE IF U GET WIPED OFF THE MAP ETC) HAHA it's kinda a political of a sort affair to him, since he still has to make a more personal opinion on him. c: But there's no dislike here, rather genuine curiosity and interest and maybe a little thread of understanding in the sense aaah... the observing part? Not passing judgements, etc.
HE HAS NO IDEA WHAT SHE IS, a peculiar goddess (in his own world he hasn't spent that much time with their version of gods and goddesses sob), but it matters little because warm and fuzzy and a comforting presence so very much like a mother's presence. She helped bring him back from the very edge of death and it builds the sort of attachment and love that will be nearly impossible to break. She's like a safe haven to him, something that he saw only in Thranduil before. :( ♥ So it's a big thing. He'll basically always welcome her presence and never turn her away and share with her the spoils of their hunts and everything.
Ooooh gosh the levels of respect here are through the roof, and that's something that will never change. She's powerful and wise and kind, and has lived through so much and endured for so long that he'd she has basically his undying yes respect and loyalty. He was very reverent towards her as well, but given how down to earth she is, and how he already got a bit of a taste of that towards himself and likely will get... to experience similar in the future, then he will cut that out at least lmao it doesn't mean he thinks any less of her, but rather he'll see and feel how it's not necessarily a too hot thing to be on the receiving end of if you don't look for it, IF THAT MAKES SENSE?
Also he values her counsel, advice, words and aid a great deal (because he knows to listen to intelligent / wise people), similarly he appreciates her friendship. c:
And as much as I'd like to joke he's scared of her like everyone else, no. HAHA he knows that she's extremely powerful, he knows she can be dangerous, but he also knows she would not abuse this power and that he has nothing to fear from her.
