Don't know. I think it's... a matter of degree, and moderation. Too tough makes one brusque. Too brave makes one foolhardy. Giving too much is likewise not without issue, and wolves will sometime protect their own at the expense of other wolves. Packs battling each other over the invisible scent lines which define territory, over good hunting, over mates.
