[ FERAL CAT ALERT legolas nearly loses his fingers but felix will settle for rearing back in his chair just far enough to fall out of it. just far enough to --
-- onto the floor. this is why we don't smile legolas. people get hurt. people's egos get srsly hurt. it's going to take like a whole two minutes to recover ]
[ Legolas startles right along with Felix, and he tries to reach out to grab him and stop the fall! Yet even elven reflexes, swift as they are, seem to lose with the speed of a surprised cat!! He stares wide eyed, standing over that table that has been set out for this game, his own surprise writ into every line of his face... almost comical in appearance, in fact. Cartoonishly exaggerated.
But then it all turns into amusement, as far of the mocking sort as it can only be, and he chuckles despite the snarling. ]
My apologies, stranger, I did not mean to startle you so!
they're beauty they're grace they're miss united states
[ rude!!! there should be a state funeral for his dignity, not smiles. that’s for the state wake.
felix shoves his irritation aside — or tries — still bristling. He steps back, gawkily straightening back up to his feet and shoving a hand through his hair. ]
A smile. [ he repeats, dully, peering at legolas. after a long moment, he laughs, sudden. ] You ought to have turned your head about for it.
[ he tips his own chin for effect. see. SIDEWAYS smile. wow!!! learning!!! ]
[ What a peculiar man! It's a thought that tumbles and flutters about his head, changes Legolas expression into puzzled amusement. He moves around the table to pick up the fallen chair and offer Felix a seat once more, in an apology for startling him quite so. Though he makes it a point to otherwise keep his hands to himself. ]
Indeed! It took me a full turn of the moon to grow used to see it as intended without tilting my head!
[ He returns to his seat for the rest of this date now. ]
Men certainly have grown to have quite the bizarre imagination in the future.
