Rather a little, yes. I'm not entirely sure what 'dating' even means, let alone why we must be swift about the matter.

It seems self-defeating to rush making a friend, but -- it is a good way to meet plenty of people. Perhaps the idea is that if you meet enough you will find one you wish to speak to longer.

[ Cheerful smile goes here! Look, it's a good enough way to pass the time. Lancelot likes making friends. ]

Perhaps. A form of courting, then? Not just for the romantic, of course, but for the pleasure of friendship. It seems logical enough.

[ He lets out a huff of laughter, drops his eyes. ]

[ He smiles, nodding his head and reaching for his cup of water. ]

Quite charmed? I admit, I was hoping for very. Perhaps I should try harder.

[ He does laugh at that, shaking his head and bowing it a little, faux bashful. ]

[ He smiles, resting his elbows on the table and lacing together his fingers as his studies Renly. ]

Forgive me, though, I did not realise you are married. Your wife, is she here?

[ His eyes flicker up and down before he bows his head. ]

I do, certainly. I am sure you must be acquainted with her - Margaery Tyrell.

The name strikes me as familiar, although I do not think I could say I know her. Perhaps I have seen her in passing. It must be a comfort, though, to have your wife here. As much as it is difficult to have them in harm's way it is... good to have someone from home, who understands you.

It is indeed. She is a flower among thorns, I am certain of that. I am not entirely sure what I would do if she were to leave my side.

[ Admittedly, nothing compares to his loss of Loras. Not having his true love at his side is the most painful thing he has had to experience, especially with the knowledge that his love has returned to a world where he is dead. Sadly, he has no control. ]

My king is here. From my home, rather than the court. A friend of mine was too, but... he has been missing since the battle the Unseelie brought to our door. Long gone from this place to the safety of home, I can only hope, although... my exact understanding of the workings of this place and how it summons us is poor.

As is my own. I know little of this world's magic, far less than i knew of my own which was abstract at best. I, too, had a friend of my own here - my squire and Lord Commander of my Kingsguard. He has left as well. If there was magic that would return him to my side? I think I might engage in it.

It is the same for myself, as selfish as this is. I know Merlin would not have wished himself gone. He would always stay by his king's side, no matter the danger or cost.

I can understand those feelings. Not from my own thoughts, of course, but from the loyalty given to me by my men and my Commander. I think he would wish to return here too, if he could.

[ Lancelot sighs, picks up his glass of water and tilts his head a little as he raises it. ]
