[ this is like deja vu. he's not going to look a gift horse in the mouth, ever, and the feasts aren't ever going to be one of the things he'll pass by. he glances down at the kid next to him, and silently takes the handle of the gravy boat and lifts it so it's within his reach, completely deadpan. ]

[ Dorian doesn't exactly frequent the Station, but it's more convenient to get to than most places outside of either court or maybe it isn't but for the sake of this tag, it is, so it's a good place to unwind and not feel like the walls are listening in on everything you say.

Most of this place reminds him a little too much of home. But there are benefits to that too. Like running into his bro good friend, Cullen. Who's having quite a bit of trouble, it seems. ]

Well, now. Do you need some assistance, Commander? Before you break whatever this is?

[ Not that Dorian can provide any real help, but he certainly acts like he knows it all. ]

[ the girl sitting next to wirt has only been half-listening to all of his mutterings to himself (quietly judging him for his taste in clothing, but she reminds herself that she shouldn't assume things too soon). it's only when he starts to protest the stealing of his food that she gives him her full attention, an eyebrow lifting. ]

Were you going to eat it or not?

There are many ways to be lost, I truly doubt you never have been.

[He says it casually, waving a hand at he now as he takes another step up. He knows what it's like to be lost, but he's always found his way back to his task, his mission, his duty or (now at least where he'll admit it only to himself) to Igraine. He has a path to follow now, he's just on a side trip to get back to it.]

Midna / 02 - Unseelie Court

I am a precious and special, Midna thought to herself with a somewhat skeptical expression. I knew that already. As if I needed imps to tell me as much.

Was this how the Hero of Light felt when she was busy coercing him into the Twilight Realm for her benefit? Possibly. Not that she'd ever asked and certainly not that she would have the opportunity to, provided that all she had been told was true. To Midna, it was an elaborate hoax. Despite the concrete evidence presented before her, it was surreal. In fact, if it had been a dream—which Midna wouldn't have considered impossible—then certainly it was an intricate one.

One worthy of a later retelling if she ever awoke from it.

Whatever the case may have been, any reason she was present, be it combat or simply for good looks, she was most certainly there. A loud gala, something the way she imagined Hyrule must have celebrated their various customs and traditions. It was lively and while she couldn't be considered the most social butterfly, she couldn't resist from creeping closer to various beings simply to listen in on conversation. As if she might possibly piece together more of the situation by doing so. Not that she was good at being inconspicuous with the exotic features. On the other hand, she might as well have fit right in.

But even as she was keeping her mouth busy with daintier food, she didn't feel anymore at ease. Per chance, just mayhap, there some truth to the whole concept of Seelie versus Unseelie with faeries and imps, after all.

[ Of all the Inquisition members, it just had to be the one that seemed to take absolutely nothing seriously. He glares at the punch. ]

What did you do?

[ Still, it was a relief to see a familiar face, even if it was one that caused nothing but countless headaches. ]

The Iron Bull...

[Even if the name isn't one, the tone is warm and greeting. The Iron Bull was picked by the Unseelie; he can see why they'd want him, but that explains why he hadn't seen him before now - in fact, many of the Unseelie do feel like many of theirs... he's got to listen more closely!

With his hands empty, he folds his arms, feeling up at his sleeve, pressing at points...]

I don't know what it is... -- I only know, it's -- what she wants. And that it takes a piece of your voice, your words, makes them louder. Like a war horn, except -- the command is words, and the meaning is in the words, instead of only the sound.

[Fringed with distant amusement, on the woman's behalf.]

There are many things she thinks she wants to use it for -- a-and you can't choose and then change with a war horn, call a command clearly when it could mean the opposite. But she will use it only once for a command, and other times for games, until her friends tell her to put it away...

[And then when the joke's refreshed, she will take it up again and use it to issue a new command.]

Mm, not really. At least not at night. But it's a really long story. Kind of stuff we don't really talk about with normal people. [She's never really sure if there's a rule on it, but they just really ... don't.]

Mainly, it's just things we deal with so you don't have to. Thing seem pretty normal here though! Even if the castle thing's all kind of out of some book or something.

You can dislike a name? [ That's a first for her, but then again he is the first of kings as well as heroes.

It only means he knows things that modern humans don't know. ]

Do you have something that fits appropriately? [ Is she actually willing to take on another name? It's possible. She's been called many other things before, so what's another one to add to the list? ] You may address me by it if you desire it.

[With a pained grunt the mechanic rolls onto her stomach to try and prop herself up. After a feel around for her crutches or anything that could have fallen out of the bag to help her, she curses under her breath. Raven doesn't want him to stoop down. She can handle this or so she thinks. It takes all of her upper body strength to pull herself up and then try and roll her legs under her.]

What are you doing here? [That is her way of saying hello, not letting him help or feel bad for her. Raven is capable and too stubborn for that anyway. Of course the way they've left her like this isn't helpful, but is she surprised he's at her side? Even if what he's telling her makes no sense. That doesn't matter because there are more important things.]

I thought you were going to get Finn.

[ and entirely understandable, almost to be expected. he wonders idly if barnes has more or less accepted them for convenience's sake - or possibly more likely, for steve's. contingency plans. right.

sam takes a quick drink of his coffee, looking around them same as Barnes had, considering. figures it oughta be safe to ask, to offer; he looks back to him even if barnes insists on looking elsewhere. ]

[ for barnes, for bucky, for any of the things he doesn't know how to be right now. or maybe just for fun. sometimes it's nice to have your own nickname, one that doesn't belong to anyone else, past or present. ]

I see... [That's awfully vague.] Well, I won't pry. But it seems like people who are totally, thoroughly normal and non-superpowered like me are in the minority.

I can't imagine your frame of reference if you call this place "pretty normal".

[ the mention of a dorm is what catches yukari's interest initially — what keeps her interest are those red headphones that look so much like her leader's.

and the gekkoukan uniform. the surprise on yukari's face is obvious; she hadn't realized that there were other people from home here! she thought she'd be alone with junpei forever. you know what, yukari doesn't care that she doesn't recognize this girl, she's going to aggressively befriend her so that she has someone else to hand around instead of stupei.

so, quickly following this girl is the detective of sees, and yukari doesn't stop until she can finally reach forward and grab the other girl's arm to stop her. ]

H, hey! [ if she sounds a little out of breath, well, it's because she is. ] Slow down! [ and after she's caught her breath: ] You're a Gekkoukan student?!

[Pod and Kiga have been traveling towards the station, and have stopped for the night near a nice little stream. Pod wants to look respectable when she finds who she's looking for.

She's got a nice little fire going, and some meat and vegetables cooking in a little pot to make a thin stew. Kiga has already finished his meal, and is just idly chewing on the bones.

The wolverine is the first to notice someone approaching and gets to his paws, grumbling out a query at the stranger. He's merely curious, not at all feeling threatened by the presence, so Pod is likewise relaxed and welcoming.]

Do we have a visiter to our fire, boy?

[She lifts her voice.] Come on then; we can share. Don't let Kiga give you a fright.

[candyrocks]

[Taking the boat and carrying it very carefully over to his place setting.]

Hey, would you like to see me make a moat for the potato castle?

[Well, well, well. A fan of fairness. Fëanor can respect that, although he's loathe to put his own blade away, simply because he knows there will be known to rival it.

But he walks over to the weapons rack, and goes through it quickly. Quicker than one might think, but his eyes are trained to spot any deficiencies, any weak spots, any flaw at all. He tests one sword, then another, and finally chooses a short sword.

It doesn't look particularly impressive, but he judges it to be the best of the lot. The smile is still on his face when he turns to face the other.]

Yes, it seems like that's what they're looking for, after all. Shall we dance for them?

And you are welcome to such doubts, but you are wrong.

[ She is firm in this, perhaps a little stubborn, Morrigan has always been such and her stance will not move. His incline ceases her descent, deciding she would rather he approach her than she go down to meet him. This man, whoever he is, is unlike most she has encountered before. Power swelled around him, like the magic the dances in the air, old and sharp. ]

[She was serious, wasn't she? Seriously naive, but unlike many of his "honorable" Seelie kin, Gilgamesh takes no issue in taking advantage. Though he does have to give it some thought, as the name sounded like some kind of curse, or at the very least a burden. Great power tended to rest heavy on the soul, after all.

Not that he's willing to acknowledge it yet, and less so from one who takes the form of a girl. He is in part reminded of his darling Saber, the cute little king with her cute little sword and cute little ambitions... cute little flowers who always unfurled for him exactly the same way.]

[He announces it with supreme authority after he has considered, as that is who she will be.]

[And that some creepy old man filled with animals, apparently. Better leave that part out.]

Teddy! [ Honestly he expected Billy to make an appearance first, but Loki isn't complaining. He slips through the crowd (ignoring a wealth of internal twisting as he buries and re-buries the guilt, since this qualifies as something of an emergency) and holds out a hand to flag him down. ] Did they really bring you here like that? They dragged me in, too.

[ And Loki weighs a fuckton, as we all know. Hey, let's be super casual about this!! ]

[ Like the answer isn't obvious. ]

[ the reaction makes korra chuckle, and she reaches up to rub naga's ears. ]

Yeah, that's what I've heard from a lot of people. [ naga pushes her nose against the locket, then leans back, sitting on her haunches. ] They're normal where I come from. This is Naga, she's my best friend.

[wipedclean]

[He looks back at Sam at that, frowns a moment, then shrugs. It's fine by him. It's just another name. He can remember it.]

Yeah.

[He feels awkward just standing here though, he doesn't really like it, so he walks outside. He's not deliberately walking away from Sam, he's expecting him to follow, which shows when he turns to look back at Sam, waiting.]

I cannot say for sure what orcs your sisters met, but my people are not so different from humans. We grieve for our dead, we celebrate certain days with feasting and gifts... we cherish our little ones, and protect them.

[You don't seem scary at all.

He thinks of Tari, and his chest aches. He forges past it-- glances over the map instead.]

Are these your travels, then? You seem to be making good progress.

[ sam smiles at loki's exuberance. ]

[ sadly human, but at least he's got that much going for him. it does make him think a little bit, though, watching loki cook and move around like it's his own joint. he sips at his coffee and leans on the counter; might as well make himself comfortable. ]
