enjoymyatelier: it's difficult to believe but people actually like this guy (possibly gentlemanly)

Kayneth El-Melloi Archibald | Fate/Zero | Seelie

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2014-09-11 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Arrival

[Taken from one war and led away into another... well, truthfully, after being given some information on the actual mechanics of this war, Kayneth was practically chomping at the bit to fight in it. Other individuals probably weren't quite as thrilled, but to him, this place was practically paradise. No actual reason to keep magecraft a secret, no pointless cultural bankruptcy, and, most importantly, a battlefield filled with soldiers from numerous parallel worlds he'd reached by some sort of Second Magic where he could win glory beyond measure --- and then, he could head back home and win the Holy Grail War.

Well, that was the way he saw it, anyway. Perhaps he should slow down and think about it a little more clearly... but he certainly has something of a spring in his step as he heads from place to place at the feast. Really, the only downside to this was that he was, for quite understandable reasons, lacking in connections --- but given that he could hob with the best of nobs, he'd clearly have no difficulty making them.

So, while he tries to avoid anyone... terribly scruffy looking and wonders what exactly they're doing there, he's perfectly content to strike up polite small talk with anyone who approaches --- though, if he sees anyone Important, he'll be the one doing the approaching.]

The Station

[Well, if Kayneth was going to get anywhere in this world, he was going to have to learn some of the lay of the land... but while he was still enchanted by most of the place, he certainly wasn't enchanted by having to travel everywhere on horseback... and the other options for mounts didn't seem any less temperamental.

...and while he felt as though he should familiarize himself with neutral ground, everything about the Station reminded him of things he certainly didn't miss. About the only thing he was pleased with was the coffee he had taken out onto the patio as he observes the scenery with obvious distaste and plans how he could learn all he needed to know about this place and leave as soon as he possibly could.]

I am familiarrr with magical devicess, but thiss iss unlike any I have ssseen beforre. I do not underrrrrssssstand why I have been brrrought to thisss place, but I mussst go back .. I muss-

[The last escapes as a breathy keen, clearly distressed, before the feed cuts off entirely on the nerve-wracked gryphon.]

Wildcard!! The Great Greenwood
The smells were one of the first things that alerted the gryphoness that something drastic had changed. The smells and the way the sun sat in the sky, its light cutting through the thick foliage of trees that shouldn't have been there. Slowly Zhaneel comes around, inner lids sweeping across her yellow eyes several times as she lifts her head from the leaf covered ground. She shakes her head several times, remembering only the intense feeling of free-fall, although she had only just been diving through a minor hoop from a rather low height.

However, as her gaze settles on the area around her, she becomes astutely aware that she is not where she believes herself to be. This is no place she remembers scouting, even taking into effect the wild magic of the surrounding Pelagirs or how the land might have changed due to those magics. She could not recall a single area with such a canopy of trees, nor the lingering sense of being watched that was already crawling down her spine.

Fur and feather both begin to bristle as she sweeps the area with a sharp glance, moving to reclaim her footing. She shakes herself out, grimacing as her crossbow shifts and settles uncomfortably between her wingblades, but she makes no move to remove it. Uncomfortable or not, it could mean the difference between life and death; that and her war-claws.

It's only after a moment, that lingering feeling of eyes still remaining on her, that she realizes that she is frightfully alone.

"Ssskan?!? 'Drrrake??" She feels her chest constrict, fear beginning to coil tightly in her stomach. "Fatherrr????"

[SEELIE PARTY]

[As much as Lancer had appreciation for parties, he wasn't one for the overly fancy sort. It seemed like the folks all around were a bit too properly dressed and impressive looking, so he decided to slip his way out, but he was getting bombarded by fairies flying around and people offering to pour him drinks, which made getting out of the hall incredibly difficult.

He only made it to the edge of the party after about a half hour of laughing, chatting, sharing drinks and flirting until a young maiden slapped his cheek. By the time he got to the edge, he was fairly certain that he managed to enjoy the party despite his best efforts not to mingle with stuffy rich folks. Damn his natural charm.]

Ahhh, what am I thinkin'? It's not that bad, is it?

[Lancer, standing up while hefting an oversized barrel over one shoulder, looked over his locket with a measure of curiosity that was brief enough to be noted as recognizing that something was weird before deciding almost immediately after that it wasn't worth asking questions about. He gave it a smile before deciding to bring up what he wanted to ask--]

Hey! I dunno if you folks know much about knighthood, but I've never had a squire, before because I never really had a use for one. What're you supposed to do?

Do I gotta feed this kid or does he do it himself? He seemed pretty intent on followin' me and felt like I was really experienced having folks cater to me. Plus, he made this little puppy-dog face when I started tryin' to talk him out of it--

[Lancer seemed to kind of drift off, touching his chin with an absently thoughtful look on his face.]

Well, anyway, I've got a squire. So, uh, what do I do with him?

A. seelie court;
[ Lloyd's had experience dealing with annoying little creatures-- the gnomelettes from the Temple of Earth were plenty a nuisance, thus he deduced that all tiny creatures were all nothing but little shits. did that stop him from listening to the words of the fairies that coaxed him away from Noishe? not at all, especially since they sounded so convincing, and the moment he woke up in this strange, new land was the moment that he decided that he would not fall for their words again.

now he was stuck in a strange land with absolutely no idea of what was going on. he was given a rundown of the situation, yes, but he couldn't properly comprehend it even if he wanted to. what's so important about him that he had to be torn away from his friends? what about his friends? were they here too or is he the only one that these fairy guys tricked into coming here? more importantly, what about this crystal growing inside of him? the one that made him this so-called precious commodity to these fairies to the point they had to make him come here.

it almost sounded eerily like - but not quite like - an Exsphere. after his history with Exspheres, this was absolutely something he was not okay with.

one thing he's totally okay with from all this hogwash, though? the feast. he can't remember seeing so much food before him, even in the party that was hosted by Tethe'alla's king, and he is loving it. Lloyd's already helped himself to the surplus of tasty morsels, digging into anything that's remotely meaty like a savage and avoiding anything that has even a hint of tomato like a plague.

concern for his friends and the crystal growing inside him, while at the forefront of his mind, can come later. right now, he's busy tearing the buffet apart - or maybe even your plate, unintentionally - like a madman. ]

[Yuri's a friendly enough face, even in its neutrality as he scans the crowds for someone familiar. He can't say he's too happy about the situation, but the least he could do was take it in stride. Keep calm until he can figure something out. If all else fails, he can start swinging his sword around, right?

He isn't eating, though. Who knows what's in the stuff- plus, he's not one for fancy banquets. He'll find something of his own later, something just enough and not too much.

Seriously, this sort of lavishness sort of made him sick. But that kind of demeanor isn't going to get him any information, so for now he's got his ears open, trying to catch whatever useful conversations he can.]

Some were familiar, yes, but there were many that were not and she had a small moment to figure on how she would best handle this new development. And here she thought she'd rid herself of that pesky curiosity that had gotten her into so much trouble.

Yet here she was, outside of the moors, outside of her land completely, in a court that mocked Stefan's and spoke of the fae. How curious.]

Tell me, how long are we intended to stay as 'guests' of this king and queen?

[While she was no longer a queen herself, she was the guardian of one and of all those that dwelt in her lands. She had sworn no oath and bent no knee to this pair.]

B:
[To see for herself the reality of being taken away from her own land, she'd taken to the air, deciding on an aerial view of this 'Drabwurld'. How far could it go? She'd only but taken a few steps out of hers. Surely she could find the moors again in but a blink.

Wings stretched open wide, Maleficent rode the updrafts and headwinds, searching for a familiar bit of path to follow back. She also happened to see all those that were caught in here as she was, though she'd not know until she came closer who was fae and who was not. Perhaps something might draw her attention?]

Arrival:

[Sakura is, needless to say, still more than a little confused at the situation even after she had the general gist of things explained to her. The Clow cards were enough to wrap her head around, but this was something else entirely. She wanders initially, wondering if any others from home had also been brought here perhaps. Tomoyo-chan, Kero-chan or Syaoran-kun.

Searching, she finds her way to the feast and tentatively helps herself to some food. She was a little hungry, after all. And there were a lot of others here, not all of which seemed as confused and overwhelmed as she was feeling. Sakura observes, catching snippets of conversation that start to help her glean more information on this strange place. She's fought before, of course. But this seems much more serious and different than capturing Clow Cards.]

Locket; Video

[It's Tomoyo that is more used to the latest technology. Sakura is of course used to phones, but these lockets are a bit different. So it takes her a bit to figure it out properly, opening with a close up of her wide, green eye before pulling back more, brushing some hair behind her ear.]

Ah, um...it's working now? Hello? I'm Sakura Kinomoto. I just got here. But I was just wondering if anyone has seen Kero-chan? He's....

[Wait. Give her a second. He has two forms so. Which one to ask for? Probably both to be on the safer side, but she's still so used to attempting to hide him and her magical powers. Where here it all seems pretty normal in comparison to back home, really.]

He's either a big lion with wings? Or a little stuffed toy. He's probably hungry and wanting sweets. If anyone finds him can they please let me know? I haven't found Syaoran-kun or Tomoyo-chan either. But-but I'm sure it'll all be okay! I'll figure something out.

[What a place, what a place. Robin wasn't sure what she would find, but she wanted to know. Upon her arrival, she had been told about a feast that was happening, but she preferred to go to the library and read up a bit on the world that she had been dragged to. What kind of a world was this? What other creatures was she going to run into? Were there risen here? She hadn't noticed any, but they could crop up at any time.

She also wanted to know more about this war that she was supposed to be fighting. She didn't like not knowing things. The gaps in her own memory were hard enough, but she couldn't do anything about that right now. All that she could do was wait and see what happened.

She sat at a table, a large stack of tomes around her, reading what she could.
]

Later, at the feast

[Robin was surprised to find the feast still going on. How many hours did she spend in the library today? She didn't know, but it had to be late. At least she was hungry. She adjusted a bit of her leg armor before heading to grab something to eat.

Everything looked so good. There was even a lot of sweets still left. Gaius would have a field day here. She smiled a bit to herself as she nibbled a bit and then started tearing into her food. She really was hungry.

Death, it seems, is a many-turreted mass of stone hulking at the edge of a forest. There are no white-eyed ladies to speak of--or, at least, none here to meet him in the desolation of this castle. She is not a kind lover and her embrace will not dull the pain you suffer.

Perhaps it isn't death. Perhaps this is a final, phantasmagoric hallucination before his body fails him. After spending the bulk of his life lurking within windowless walls, he can hardly expect his final vision to be anything less.

But he doubts it.

Gideon of Thrax will never escape the shadows that chased him from Kekropia to Marathat to death itself. Considering just what they conceal, what secrets of his past, he might not have any right to expect he could. He tears his gaze from the turrets that slash wickedly at the sky and glances around for an entrance.

this is probably at least mildly disconcerting for anyone who happens to be up here as well, considering how thoroughly he's going through things and how much he looks like a fucking loose-cannon samurai right out of a fantasy Kurosawa film. he's not going to be particularly impressed by anyone who tries to stop him, but it's worth a shot.]

[anyone who wanders up from the Station to Loch Noa tonight will see the flicker of a campfire at the water's edge. closer inspection reveals its only occupant to be Auron, sitting with deceptive ease considering the massive sword at his side. he doesn't seem to be watching much else beyond the clouds skittering across the moon...until he speaks directly to the nighttime interloper.]

This is wrong. It is so wrong she can't even begin to parse out all the wrongness of it. It's like the most bizarre, warped dream she has ever dreamed, but multiplied a thousandfold.

I'm dead.

She feels weirdly displaced, as though she's not in her own body anymore. Is that because she isn't, because she's, well, in hell or something? Or is it just a consequence of her own disorientation as she looks around, takes in the unbelievable surroundings (and inhabitants) of this particular feast, and can't figure anything out.

Part of her wants to run, find someplace to hide, maybe look at the mark on her neck and decide if she can do what the soldiers possibly hadn't managed...

But for the moment, Tess just swallows and mutters, "What the hell is going on here?"

[B: Later; The station]

When Tess first finds the Station, she is similarly disbelieving. But after all the shock of her arrival, and all the other crazy shit going on in this world, wifi and fresh brewed coffee seems mundane by comparison.

Nevermind that she hasn't experienced either of those things for about twenty years.

So she quickly finds herself with a cup of steaming, dark gloriousness and finds herself a spot on the patio, to just sit. It seems like a lifetime ago that she was last able to just sit and watch, and not have to run, or dodge, or do business.

-- And then this, whatever this place should be. He's heard stories of those taken wandering into the spirit world, straying from a lonely forest path into a tale far more ancient and strange.

He's never heard one with a speedboat.

Change comes to all things, and he must be as ever quick to adapt. There's no disguising his face now, but he's worn his own before to stranger effect. In a shrug, his shoulders shift higher, his steps lighter, gestures hesitant and lost; there's no reason for wariness here, but caution undone is a mistake already half-made. The castle holds no context for Amon or Noatak, until the situation can be assessed, he needs a new name, a part to play. At least until he can get his hands on better props.

The alcove is a dim one, set between the shadows of a corridor and the feast's bright lights. He's stripping the pads from his shoulders when he hears the slight click of teeth together.

Who? He turns, slowly and calm, in the best facsimile of good manners. It doesn't quite hide the way that his stance shifts tight against the floor. He's bracing.

And should you happen to be wandering the halls a creepy laugh might reverberate through the walls as a shadowy figure sways side to side as it walks down the darkened corridor. ]

merrill | dragon age | unseelie (let's be real)

( arrival )

[ she lingers, hovers and paces and somehow manages to do that at the same time before huffing a breath and trying to level herself a bit more. faeries. mythal, if anything, this just sounded like something Fen'harel would do. trick the People, snatch her up, away from her friends, from the place she was needed more. for what? to fight a different war?

she felt her magic (with the inevitable plus one that came along with her blood), but she felt other magic here too. all around her, all around this place. it was a little dizzying.

she takes no food, and wonders with her staff a comfortable weight across her back. information. she needs that. she has questions. who could answer those? her attention drifts upwards to the ceiling, to the entire immensity of this place. what if there's a -

- a small oof when her shoulder bumps another's and the elf is pivoting a wide eyed stare their way.
] - Oh, Creators, I am so sorry.

(wildcard 1 )

[ there's plenty of odd life here, she finds, but it's a small flower unlike any she's seen that catches her eye once she wonders outside. wonders, and is undoubtedly lost. she could be in the gardens of the castle she was brought to. she could be in an entirely different place. she couldn't really tell (didn't bring varric's red twine with her, you see).

but merrill finds the little flower, and crouches beside it, looking at its wilting leaves and petals and, with thinking she is all alone, carefully lets her magic seep from her fingers. with a subtle glow, the small plant raises its head just a little bit.
] There - much better.

(wildcard 2) have a different scenario in mind? go for it! this elf will likely be wondering anywhere through the castle, and the lands beyond. she tends to get lost very quickly, and it isn't at all a stretch to say she lands herself in weird and unlikely places. put her anywhere!

Jinora | Legend of Korra | Seelie

[personal profile] demonstrations 2014-09-12 07:25 am (UTC)(link)
[ SEELIE FEAST ]

[ Jinora was alone. That's the first thing that ran through the young girl's head at her sudden arrival in the Drabwurld. Or, more precisely, her family and all of the other new Airbenders were not with her. There were people here, certainly, and it was definitely a festive atmosphere. But it wasn't her home. Daddy, Mommy, Uncle Bumi, Kai-- even Ikki and Meelo-- she wanted them. Any of them. It wasn't even that long ago that they'd all been together, but then those spirits came and she followed them...

No, fairies. They weren't spirits at all.

The locket remained clutched in her hand while the other held her glider. She was likely a strange picture to many of the people here: a small, eleven-year old girl who consistently moved fluidly and was dressed like a monk. It wasn't exactly a normal picture at all, was it? But she wasn't bothered by that-- it wasn't even a thought that crossed her mind. Air Nomads and Air Acolytes were still fairly rare in her world, after all, and she'd always been proud of heritage.

For a while she hesitated at the edge of the party. She wanted to ask questions-- a million of them, more then she could count or had the ability to rattle off. The note from the monarchs had left her much to be desired and she wanted to know if anyone else knew anything more... But this was all a bit much from the start. She wasn't exactly the shiest, but Jinora had always preferred peace and quiet. The festivities of the Seelie feast didn't really give her that much. There must be a library around here, too, right?

So it was with a hesitant look back at the party that she turned away to make her way down the halls and occasionally stop to ask where the library was. More importantly if anyone knew a man by the name of Tenzin or a girl named Korra-- surely, if anyone was here they would be, right? She couldn't help but hope and look for any of the people she held closest to her heart.]

NETWORK POST - OPEN TO BOTH COURTS:

[Hello everyone, have a fabulous diva to help brighten your day.]

Alright, so I get the I'm like super important in helping to stop this whole fighting thing but how am I supposed to get anything done without the right accessories or music? I'm a hot commodity, obviously. I know you're all dying to hear me perform. I mean you all should feel so lucky to have gotten a star like me. I require a minimum of two follow spots for any performance and full hair and makeup.

[She thinks for a moment, an almost sincere look crossing her face.]

I'm also gonna need more wardrobe options and at least three set changes. If you want my full list of preferred designers, I'd be more than happy to give that to you. Options, much like Tiffany's, are a girl's best friend.

[She quirks her lips, satisfied with that for now. She blows a small kiss before closing the locket.]
